'I'm .. I'm sorry.. Zak.' He waited, and waited for the bullet to hit him,' does time seem slower...? When you're about to die..?' instead of a bullet hitting him, something—or someone, fell on him, he immediately catches it. He opened his eyes, he looked in his arms, George. George was in his arms, limp, and most likely, dead.
Max's eyes widened, 'what the... what the f—' "Fuck!" Clay yelled, Max looked at the two, both were as surprised as him, but he betted that they had a crazier roller coaster of emotions. He stared at George, trying to find the area where he got shot. He was shot near the chest, on the left side, and was bleeding out very quickly.
"You.. YOU LITTLE—" Nick yanked the gun out of Clay's hands, and started shooting at Max, luckily, Max dodged all the shots. Max ran through the door, the same one where Clay came through, but as he was running there, he was shot in the arm. 'Fuck!'
Max quickly shut the door behind him, and sat down, leaning on the door. He curled up, and started at the floor, whilst listening to Nick and Clay's sobs, and yells. "Did he save him?! Or did you fucking miss?!"
"He jumped right in front o-of him! I-I wasn't aiming for George! I-I swear!"
"Clay! Are there any bandages?!"
"I-I don't know! T-there somewhere but I don't know where!"
Max started at the wall, his tears lightly hitting the floor with each second passing.
"Is he even alive?! Clay! Is he even alive!?"
"I DON'T FUCKING KNOW?!?"
Max heard a large shatter, he didn't know what it was, but it sounded big. He heard another thing break, and he heard Nick trying to calm Clay down.
"CLAY! PLEASE CLAM DOWN!"
"DO YOU THINK I'LL FUCKING CALM DOWN!? GEORGE JUST GOT KILLED! HE FUCKING JUMPED IN FRONT OF THAT KID!"
"YEAH BUT—... Do... do you think he'll live..?"
"I.. don't know, does he have a pulse?!"
"I'll check..... ..... he does! But he's dying!"
"He's not going to die! He won't! I'LL MAKE SURE HE DOESN'T DIE! WHY DID HE FOLLOW US!? WAS HE CURIOUS!? I TOLD HIM TO PREPARE THE SMORES! THIS IS MY FAULT! HE INSISTED THAT HE WOULD FOLLOW ME, AND I JUST LEFT HIM THERE!—"
Max couldn't hear anything anymore, his vision was getting blurry from his tears, and he just wasn't strong enough to listen to what they were saying. He looked at the bleeding on his arm, he got up, and walked around, he tried to find bandages, or anything similar.
He walked in a room nearby, and found a first aid kit. He looked inside, grabbed the bandages, and started to wrap his arm in it. After he finished bandaging up his arm, he looked to his right, and saw two keys hung up on the wall, one green, and one orange.
He saw that there was a paper underneath the keys, but he couldn't identify what it said. It was just a bunch of that symbols he had no idea about, he analyzed the symbols, and realized that the symbols were very similar to the ones next to the door, where all that banging and screaming was.
He picked up the two keys, and stuffed them in his pocket. 'Are these really the keys to that.. that door? Okay, I'd get to the door, find out what ever the fucks in it, and.....' he trailed off, not knowing what to do next. Max then realized that he would have to find another route to the door, since Clay, and Nick would be trying way harder to find him this time.
'.. would George be okay? Did he really.. die for me? Why?! He has so much to live for! Now Nick and Clay would rip me to shreds! Or even worse... I mean! Their best friend died for some fucking random kid! Did George know about my plans?! How?!' Max started to feel more steamy tears run down his face again, 'is there ever a day where I stop.. crying, like a bitchy crybaby?!'
Max pulled on his hair, and covered his mouth to cover his cries. 'Life is so shitty! I should've been dead! Not George! Why George?! Now I'm fucked! I'm going to suffer my whole life if Nick and Clay find me!' While crying, and internally screaming at himself, one of the keys fell out of his pocket, reminding him that he had to find out what was in that 'room'.
'Oh yeah... I have to find out what's in that.. that weird ass room.' Max picked up the key, put it back in his pocket, and walked out of the room. He looked around the area, 'shit, I don't know where to go... I've never been in this place before.' Max gazed at the right hallway, he then thought again if he should pick the right hall, and started walking towards the hall.
He looked left, and right, there were bigger areas that he could go to, but he decided to stick around in the hall until he was sure that he found that room. He stared at the floor while walking straight, his thoughts started to whirl around his head again. 'Wait, how did George get here? Clay mentioned that George followed him.. but,.. he was supposed to prepare s'mores? Were they camping? Oh, is Dusk okay? Where is he..? What is he doing now? Is he even alive—of course! He's fine! Of course he's fine! Hah... what type of a question is that...?—'
Max's thoughts got cut off by the sound of a bang, and his head hitting something metal. 'Ow what the fu—' Max looked at what he bumped into, and it was a metal pillar. He looked to his right, and saw the entrance to the door with the same symbols. 'Wait... is it really the door?!' Max dug in his pockets, and realized that one key fell out of his pocket while he was mindlessly walking. 'Oh shit, not now, not now. Why now?! Of course one of the keys have to go missing!'
Max quietly, but quickly ran across the hallway, inspecting each crack and crevice, trying to find the missing green key. After around ten minutes of trying to find the key, he finally found it in one of the crevices. Except, the key was secured in a spider web, with a huge spider defending it.
'Oh. My. Fucking. God. This is a damn joke! This is a joke. This is a joke! Why a spider?! A huge one in fact! I need a stick, or something to destroy the spider web, get the spider away, and get the key.' Max explored a bit more, trying to find something long enough to destroy the spider web and get the key from a safe distance.
He looked up, and found a vine hanging down from the ceiling. It looked sturdy enough to act as a stick, and it was the only thing he found. He tried to jump several times to get it, but sadly, he was too short to get it. His hand almost reached it by an inch, which made him frustrated. He kept trying, and trying for the past ten minutes, his hand finally gripped it, and now he was above the ground, and was holding the vine that he had so desperately needed.
He pulled down, and down, and down, but he wasn't strong enough. He tried to cut the vine, he tried to pull down, but nothing worked. He was going to give up, but suddenly, the vine just broke, and Max fell to the hard ground, creating a loud bang, along with him screaming 'argh!' surely giving Nick and Clay a sign that he's here.
'Finally! I got the damn thing! But, Nick and Clay might know I'm here! I have to be—' his thoughts cut off by the sound of footsteps running his way, he panicked a bit and swiftly started running in the direction of the green key. He destroyed the spider web, and quickly grabbed the green key, and stuffed it in his pocket. Max started running the the direction of the door, and swiftly looked behind him, it was Nick, not too far behind him, getting ready to grab him and murder him.
He ran up to the door, quickly pulled the keys out of his pockets, and stuffed them in the keyhole, he twisted and turned it until the door swung open. He felt someone grab his arm, and luckily managed to get the grip off him. He swiftly shut the door shut, and tried to control his breathing. 'That was close—wait, I'm stuck with the thing in here now—'
"M-Mega?! Uh- Max!?"
