I woke up drenched in sweat. Eww I thought, this had never happened to me before. Then I remembered the dream I had had last night and decided it was just a weird dream. I got out of bed and ripped off my sheets, pillow cover, and comforter, and put them in a pile. I would ask later where I could go get them washed because they now smelled like sweat. I went to my dresser and picked out an outfit, an orange Camp Half-Blood t-shirt (I had found a pile of about 30 of 'em last night on my bunk), black leggings, and white sneakers.

I went into the bathroom, showered, did my hair, put on clothes, brushed my teeth, etc. When I was done I cleaned up the bathroom and put my dirty clothes in the hamper I found in the cabin (which I also moved by my bed and put all my sheets and stuff into it). I sat on my bunk and started one of the books I had brought because Annabeth told me at dinner why we can't use electronics unless it was an emergency (because it attracts monsters). I heard the conch horn blow for breakfast and I made my way to the dining pavilion.

When I got there I continually got confused glances, but I didn't blame anyone. I sat down......by myself and ate my breakfast. I looked to my left in between the pillars that hold up the roof and admired all of the landscaping, no doubt courtesy of the Nymphs and the Demeter cabin. I looked up at the vaulted ceiling and wood floor which looked old and new at the same time. As I was eating I realized how much this was like lunch at school, people slowly sneaking to sit at another cabin's table, people talking more than eating, it made me think of all of my friends at school. I glanced at Annabeth at the Athena cabin table and she looked back. I smiled at her and then I went back to eating my food.

Chiron cleared his throat and everyone looked at him. "I would like to let everybody know that just like Athena, Artemis is a virgin and maiden goddess and Athena has had lots of demigod children no?" Chiron said. Lots of mumbled "uhuh's, yah's and yes's went around and even just some nods. "So it's the same with Artemis and she hasn't broken any of her vows, the only difference is that she only has one child, Isla. Chiron said, and gestured at me. Everyone looked at me again but instead of confusion on their faces, a lot of them had an expression that looked like they were....sorry? Then I realized they had probably thought I was a misfit and hadn't given their decision any consideration.

When breakfast was over I immediately went over to Annabeth and said, "What do you have for your first activity?" "Sword practice." She said. "Same!" I said. "Well, what are we waiting for let's go!" Annabeth said. We made our way over to where we did sword practice and the whole way there I was grinning ear to ear. "What are you smiling about?" Annabeth said. "This is going to sound crazy but even though I've only been here a day not even, I feel at home here," I said. "That's great!" Annabeth said. And my smile only got wider as we headed to sword practice.

When we finally got to sword practice we went into a shed and put on some light armor (it took me like 10 minutes to figure out how to put it on.) Then we went to the back of the shed to pick out a sword and for me to pick out my usual weapon for me to always have with me. I picked up a sword with a black handle that was pretty light and decided it would do ok, but then I came to the matter of what weapon would be mine forever? I knew that swords would never really be my thing but I saw twin daggers that had blue handles with stars on them with a crescent moon on one and a bow and arrow on the other. I instantly knew that those were it. "Celestial Bronze," Annabeth said. "Deadly to monsters, mined from Mt. Olympus." "Nice." I said. I put the covers back on the daggers and put them in the little pockets they go in and then put the belt that had the pockets on it on.

We went out onto the field and gave it our all against each other. I knew that Annabeth obviously had years of experience so I knew she would be tough. I knew as soon as we started I would just have to let my instincts take over. My instincts suck. After about five rounds I was tired. Me and Annabeth just sat on a bench, drank some water, and talked. I looked at the scenery around me. The lake now to my right, the once again beautiful landscaping, the tree nymphs turning into trees when a Satyr would try to catch them, the birds chirping, it was peaceful (I mean if you blocked out the noise of everybody in sword practice.)

When sword practice was over me and Annabeth went our separate ways, her to climbing and me to archery which I had a good feeling about. When I got to archery it was me and all of the Apollo kids with a few random kids mixed in. I saw their head counselor Will Solace and then another kid with some Brown curly hair and eyes and slightly tanned skin. I went over to him and asked what his name was. "Connor Stoll," Connor said. "y/n." I said and we got started. I got in one of the lines to shoot, when it was my turn to shoot a girl next to me said "You wanna bet one drachma to see who can be the first to get a bullseye?" The girl said. "Sure," I said. Annabeth had told me what golden drachma were and had given me five for emergencies. "I'm Isla by the way," I added. "Kayla," Kayla said. I went first and got pretty close to getting a bullseye, I wasn't surprised since my mother was Artemis after all. It went back and forth with me and Kayla getting close to the bullseye but not quite, but eventually, I got a bullseye. "Dang, you're good!" Kayla said while handing me a drachma. Kayla told me she was an Apollo kid, and then we both went to the back of our lines and Kayla said "You must be an Apollo kid that hasn't been claimed...unless...." she didn't finish her sentence. "You're new anyway right?" Kayla said instead. "Yeah, I'm new... and my godly parent is Artemis." "So you are her!" Kayla said. "Yep," I said. Me and Kayla kept talking and after a few more rounds archery was over.

Connor came over to me and said "Your Artemis's kid right?" "Yeah," I said. "Well, like I said I'm Connor and I'm twelve and a Hermes kid. How many twelve year olds are here?! I thought. "I'm also twelve." I said, and then right after stifled a laugh. "What?" Connor said. "It's just your dad is Hermes and your name is "Connor Stoll". I said. "Gee it's not like I get that all the time," Connor said. I just laughed. "Well I'll see ya around," Connor said. "See ya," I said, and we both walked our separate ways.

The rest of the day I had lots of different activities and at around 1:30 had lunch, which I mean are they trying to starve us?! At lunch, I sat at my table, alone. Again, *sigh*. This whole "since-I-don't-have-any-siblings-I-have-to-sit-by-myself" thing was going to get some getting used to. On the bright side all day I couldn't get over how beautiful camp was, I was going to have to go to the Demeter cabin and say thank you

At campfire, Chiron said that since Artemis's cabin didn't have a designated spot to sit I could put my spot wherever I wanted. I put my cabin right in between the empty Poseidon spot and Athena's spot. Annabeth sat on the far left side of the Athena spot and I on the far right, so we could talk. We made s'mores and sang ridiculous songs courtesy of Travis and Connor Stoll.

After campfire, I went to my cabin and found....everything I had put in the hamper fresh and clean, folded on my bed? I went to look and sure enough, it was all of my dirty clothes/sheets folded on my bed. I decided to leave it and not go ask, I remade my bed and then got ready for bed and I had the same dream that I had, the night before.

(My dream.) All I could see was black. A males voice talked to me. "In two years' time my son will enter your camp and I need you to be ready. He will be a big role in the next two great prophecy's. Watch out for him." And that was the last I heard of the voice. For a good twenty seconds, I was shown a boy that looked my age sitting in class, he had sea-green eyes, black hair, and a tanned olive skin tone. Then it was black again, I decided in my subconscious that I would tell Annabeth about this in the morning. And then once again I went to sleep, sleep.
