The Daughter of Artemis

Chapter 6 ~ y/n's P.O.V

Ok guys I was going to bring Percy into the picture in this chapter buuuttttt then I realized I hadn't done a chapter addressing y/n's powers, so here ya go! Oh and sorry I didn't update yesterday but I was taking the day off. Uncle Rick owns everybody except y/n and her dad. -Isla :)

Since it was Saturday I didn't have any activities and everybody was goofing around either in their cabins or outside them, some people were just plain old relaxing. It was a nice sunny day and the nymphs were very cheery as well as the Demeter cabin. The birds were chirping everything was peaceful and cheery....except the news i'd just been given. I mean how do you relax when someone just told you that the fate of the world rests on a most-likely-12-year-olds shoulders? Especially when it's a boy most-likely-12-year-old.

I tried to put that in the back of my mind for now and just think happy thoughts when Annabeth said "I just thought about this, besides for obviously archery we don't really know what you can do. Let's spend the weekend trying to see what you can do, are you up for that? "Omg yessss your right and plus it will get our mind off of the whole "great prophecy" thing." I said. "Great!" Annabeth said. "Oh and we should get someone else maybe to come to?" She added. "Ummmm maybe Katie Gardner?" I suggested. "Sure." Annabeth said. We walked over to the Demeter cabin and knocked on the door Billie Ng answered the door and "Hello, can I help you?" "Katie please." I said. Billie nodded and went over to get Katie who was playing Uno with Miranda. "What's up." Katie said. "Do you wanna hang with us, were trying to see what Isla can do." Annabeth said. "Sure." Katie said.

At first we tried things like if I could summon stars and stuff like that but none of that kinda stuff worked. We went to the Pegasus stalls for fun but when I got there I heard all these voices. "It's her." Someone said and another voice said. "SHUT UP BLACKJACK." "Ummmm who is Blackjack?" I asked nobody in particular. "She can hear us, I told you Snow!" Someone said. "Ummm do Pegasus talk?" I asked Annabeth. "Ummm not English last I checked." Annabeth said. "So you can talk to animals!" Katie said. "I guess so." I said. We tried to see what else I could do. Eventually I go the crazy idea to try and radiate "night" to push back the enemy, it worked amazingly. I would just close my eyes and concentrate and a grayish sparkly glow would surround me and push back every living thing around me. "Cool" the three of us said in union.

By the end of the day we didn't find out much but we learned at least two things. We dropped Katie off at the Demeter cabin and then Annabeth at the Athena cabin. "Oh I forgot to tell you, but tomorrow at eight pm. the Hephaestus cabin is having a party in bunker 9." Annabeth said before walking in her door. "Thanks for letting me know!" I said. "No problem, 'night." She said. " 'Night." I said. And headed to my cabin.

When I got to my cabin porch I saw a letter with a necklace taped to it. Huh I wondered, what was that? I picked it up and carefully ripped off the necklace without ripping the paper. It was gold and had a bow and arrow charm on it that was silver. I picked up the note and read it. It said.

Dear my beloved daughter (y/n),

I know you might never meet me but know but do know that I love you very much. For some of us gods it is very hard for us to understand the concept "love" because some of us have had many affairs and children. But I have only had one "love" and one child, you. So it is a little easier for me to understand. I hope you live a long life knowing that being a demigod that is most often not the case. Just because you are my one and only child does not mean that I am going easy on you. You will have to make the Artemis cabin proud, give everything your all and prove to me that you are truly one of my kin. I gift you with the necklace taped on this letter, you lightly pull on the charm and you have a bow slung around your shoulder and a quiver full of arrows also slung around your shoulder. I am going to tell you of this power you possess because it will most likely save you many times but you will also most likely never know of this if I don't tell you. It's called "night travel", similar to shadow travel-a power Hades children possess. All you do is concentrate and imagine where you want to go, you have to have a mental image of this place though, try to block out any extra noises and then imagine yourself traveling there when you open your eyes you will be there. The only downside is that you can only do this at night in the moonlight. I love you!

 Wow I thought. I tried to use the charm and sure enough it worked. I felt really good to hear from my mom, because from what iv'e heard a lot of kids never hear from there parents/meet them.

I went inside my cabin and got ready for bed, I got in my bunk closed my eyes and feel asleep luckily with no dreams.

~Time skip to 7:50 Sunday evening.~

I made my way over to the Hephaestus cabin and on the way stopping to get Annabeth. I knocked and luckily Annabeth answered. "You ready?" I asked her. "Yup, lets paarrrtttyyy!" Annabeth said. I laughed and we continued to walk over to the Hephaestus cabin.  Charles Beckendorf answered the door and said "Come in!" We said our thank you's and headed into the workshop which was now a party room. I guessed they had not asked Chiron if they could have a party but I didn't really mind either way.

Me and Annabeth danced and talked for about an hour when Katie Gardner yelled "LET'S SEE WHAT (Y/N) CAN DO!" "YAAAHHHHHH!!!" Yelled pretty much everybody. Everyone made a circle around me and first I did my glow-barrier-night-thingy and then I had a conversation with a ladybug that had moseyed right on into the party and then I made my charm-bow and arrow thing do it's thing, then knocked an arrow and shot a bullseye on the dart board in the room and then for the finale I led everybody outside and night traveled back inside and yelled "COME ON SLOW POKES!" Everybody laughed and started going "(Y/N), (Y/N), (Y/N)!" And then Connor and Travis Stoll put me on their shoulders and ran around. It was probably one of the funnest nights of my life.

When the party died down and pretty much everybody had left me and Annabeth decided to go. We said our goodbyes and then headed back to our cabins. Once again I got ready for bed (this time with no note on the porch lol) and hopped into bed. I closed my eyes once again and fell into a surprisingly peaceful sleep.
