"You don't need to walk me back," Heejin said. "I know where I live."

It was dark once again, around eight o'clock.

"I know," Hyunjin said. "But it's late, you'll get mugged or something."

In her right hand, she held a corndog that was bought from 7/11, the other hand in her pant pocket. Heejin watched in awe as Hyunjin ate it. She hadn't had a single bite of food the whole day, she was ravenous.

"What?" Hyunjin asked, her mouth stuffed with the corndog.

"Nothing," Heejin said, a bit of drool running down her face. How she longed for any type of food, but she had no money.

Hyunjin made a small disgusted face seeing Heejin drool, turning back to her corndog right after. She felt inside her pockets, seeing if she had any money left over and she didn't.

She'd only taken a bite of her corndog, and she was still hungry. But seeing Heejin slowly losing her mind was bothersome, it was making her lose her appetite.

"Did you... not eat today?" Hyunjin asked.

"No," Heejin responded. "I don't eat most of the time. Well, I can't eat most of the time. Putting meals on the table can be difficult from time to time."

Heejin put her hands into the pockets of the jacket and softly sighed. Hyunjin was about to hand over her corndog, but stopped herself at the last second. She didn't want to make it seem like she was treating Heejin as her charity project.

"Well, were here," Heejin said, pointing at her house that was more of an old rundown apartment.

"Oh," Hyunjin said, finishing up the corndog.

"Here," Heejin said, taking off the jean jacket.

She folded it in half and handed it to Hyunjin, a small smile plastered onto her face. A moment of silence passed as both of them didn't know what to say.

"I'll see you... later?" Heejin said.

Hyunjin awkwardly nodded her head, putting her jacket back on. Heejin nodded back, and started walking toward the entrance.

"Wait," Hyunjin said, Heejin made a 180 to face Hyunjin. "Can I check the time, my phones dead."

"Sure," Heejin said, taking out her phone. "It's like 8:17."

"No, can I see your phone?" Hyunjin asked.

Heejin turned her phone to Hyunjin's face, the numbers 8:17 shining brightly. Hyunjin quickly snatched the phone from Heejin's hand.

She started typing something down. Right after, she pulled Heejin closer and took a picture.

"Here," Hyunjin said, handing the phone back to Heejin.

Heejin looked down and the phone, it was a new contact, it was Hyunjin's phone number. A little picture of them was used for the icon.

"Goodnight, Heejin," Hyunjin said, right before she walked away.

Almost instantly, butterflies started forming in Heejin's stomach. Hyunjin said her name, out loud, for the first time.

"What the- what's wrong with me?" Heejin asked herself, as she walked up the flights of stairs.

"Heejin," Heejin's mom said, sitting with her legs crossed on the couch. "Where were you the whole day."

Heejin opened her mouth, but no words came out. There was nothing scarier than the sight of an angry mother.
