Chapter Fourteen (Tobias)

"Ok, here's the plan." I say. "We will sneak into the apartment and I'm guessing the apartment has a basement. Only a few do. But he'll most likely be in the basement with the girls doing who knows what. So I'll go first and distract Marcus while you guys get the girls. When you get them upstairs I'll finish him off."
"What are you gonna do?" Peter asks.
"I'm either going to kill him or put him in jail."
"I would stick a butter knife in his eye."
"Yeah. We know." Uriah says while chuckling.
We all start laughing for a couple minutes until we dial down.
"Ok. Come with me guys." I say.
We walk to my apartment and I lead them to a secret door in the back of my closet. We walk into the room which consists of knives and guns.
"Everyone, grab two knives and a gun."
They do as told.
"Ready?"
They all shake their heads yes.
"Ok. Let's go."
We walk out of my apartment and head to the other apartment. When we get there, we see Dauntless guards outside. We quietly sneak up to them and take them down. We didn't kill them, but there was nobody here but us. All we did was punch them until they were knocked cold. I mean we couldn't get into the apartment if they saw us. If they did and they let us go through, then that would be really stupid and funny. Anyway. I quietly opened the door and peeked through. Nothing. I motion for the guys to come in and they do.We quickly search the whole apartment but there seems to be no one here except us. Just then we hear screaming and crying coming from a door in the living room.
"Hold on guys." I say while holding up my hand for them to stay back.
I quietly open up the door revealing stairs. Bingo.
"Ok guys. Just like I said. I'll go down and distract him while you get the girls. I meet you back up here."
They all nod there heads in understanding.
I quietly walk downstairs so he won't here me. Tris looks over in my direction and sees me. I quickly put a finger over my mouth signaling her to be quiet. She nods in understanding and points her attention back to Marcus.
"Ok. So with the first day some of you followed directions. And some of you didnt. I'm talking about you Candor." Marcus says looking at Christina.
"So you have the honor of going first again. And you will get beat with a friend."
He looks at the other girls trying to decide who should get beat with Chris.
"Tris."
"Not on my watch." I say holding up my gun.
I walk up to him and get his back facing the girls. The guys quietly come down and silently untie the girls. The guys carry the girls with Shauna following.
"Ok. I'm going to give you two options. 1. I kill you. Or 2. I call the police and you stay in jail for who knows how long." I say.
"How about," He starts, "You keep your mouth shut!"
He lunges at me but I quickly dodge it. He ends up running in the wall. That's my chance. I act fast. I run towards him and grab him. I throw him on the floor.
"This is for your own good." I say, saying what he used to say to me.
I start beating the living daylights out of him until he's knocked out cold. I decide not to kill him, even though he deserves it. But I don't want to be a murderer. I run upstairs leaving Marcus on the floor.When I get upstairs, Tris automatically limps towards me. I start towards her so she doesn't limp that far and we meet in the middle. I kiss her and she kisses me back. The kiss is full of passion.
"I'm so sorry," I start, "I should have been there to protect you. Instead you had to through all of this s*it from that evil person whose name should not be mentioned..." then she cuts me off.
"Tobias." she says quiet enough for only me to hear. "It's not your fault. You were shopping for our big day and it's not your fault that you have a devil of a father."
"I just promised myself that I'll always protect you no matter what. And I broke that promise."
"It's fine. I"m fine. All though I might have to go to the Infirmary. I got shot in the leg twice and cut in the cheek."
I pick her up bridal style along with all the boys picking up their girlfriends (Except Zeke and Shauna) and we run to the Infirmary.
