Chapter 41

Taehyung hangs up the call, gripping the only source of communication he had on his hands tight as he cried his eyes out.

Everything seemed to reflect on him- and he knew karma would get him back. He killed someone innocent. It was all just because he was scared to be told off the murder he had committed alongside with Jungkook.

He did it to protect himself. Not anyone else, not even Jungkook.

At least that's what he had told himself.

"No, Jimin will save you. Away from the sick monster back there--" Taehyung wipes his tears, trying to calm himself down. "You will escape and seek justice."

But what for? He had killed two persons already- will Jimin be able to help him get away with it too?

Taehyung takes a deep shaky breath, closing his eyes for the nth time as he contemplates on what to do. Should he try and find an open area?

He knew he'll probably get lost in the middle of his escape plan. Jimin might have a hard time finding him- so it was either he stays here with the buried bodies or to try his luck on finding the roadside Jimin was blabbering about.

But somehow, his legs led him back to the place he despises the most. He wasn't sure if he was just stupid to come back there for no reason, but this might be an easier access. Jimin will be there to help him fight Jungkook.

Taehyung wipes the excess blood off his face and the knife he had, hiding the phone somewhere on his pockets as he slowly walks to the small cabin where he had lost everything including his sanity.

He found himself standing infront of the cabin's door, his hands a little shaky as the traumatizing thoughts began to invade his mind again.

He killed someone. He was just like Jungkook now, but a killer in denial.

Taehyung was disgusted about himself, he wasn't sure if he should be happy that he got rid of someone who accused him for something he didn't do by himself- but no, he did not want things to go this way. He's becoming a monster that he never wished to be.

He clenches his fists, biting his lower lip as he tried to rethink his decisions before doing something as stupid as coming back to Jungkook.

But he had to stick with this plan. He knew Jungkook was clueless of what he had possibly done back there, or even the time he called for Jimin's help.

He softly lands his fist to the wooden door, creating a pleasant knocking noise that was loud enough to alert whoever was inside.

After a few seconds of waiting, the door finally swings open to reveal Jungkook. He looked surprised to see Taehyung, his eyes a little wide though his expression was unreadable.

"Tae.." He suddenly spoke with a low shaking voice. Jungkook didn't say anything after though- as he instantly hugged the latter who looked confused and in the state of shock.

Jungkook was acting strange.

"I knew it, you'll come back for me.." He began to laugh- sounding a little playful yet sarcastic. "I know you will be with me." His hug became tighter, head nuzzled to Taehyung's neck.

Taehyung felt a lump on his throat. This was new, Jungkook never acted like this before.

But still, a plan is a plan. Jungkook's wellbeing didn't matter to him anymore, this was his only escape and he would do anything just to be free.

Anything.

The latter hugs Jungkook back, his hands slithering on the male's back as if he was comforting him. "I know.. I'm sorry." He whispers, though he got a weird tingle inside him right after those fake words of sympathy came out of his mouth.

Jungkook stayed still, not saying a word as Taehyung smirks. "I'm always here, and I will never leave you."

"Hoseok..!" Jimin calls the male out of his office. He had to be careful as he had promised Taehyung that Yoongi wasn't involved in their rescue mission.

"Babe! I was worried," Hoseok approaches the male with a smile, but it was soon replaced with a look of confusion when Jimin gave him a warning glare.

"What's wrong?" He was quick to ask, not liking the way Jimin was acting. Was he mad at him? It wasn't his fault that Yoongi was insulting him though.

"Taehyung." Jimin tried his best to summarize the whole situation. "He reached out for help. He called me earlier- I asked him about his whereabouts but he didn't know where he was taken."

Hoseok's eyes practically widens, his heart racing as he looks back to his desk where he had his focus on the whole day trying to connect useless clues of where Jimin's brother was. It was a totally good news for him- maybe this is the time where he can finally be of help.

"Really?! Oh my god, Yoongi has to know this- we need backup--"

"No." Jimin corrected, sternly as he held Hoseok back when the male was about to reach for his phone to call their boyfriend.

"What?" Hoseok was taken back. "Listen, I know Yoongi was being an asshole towards me but right now we just need teamwork."

"I know Hoseok, but there's something we still don't know about Yoongi." Jimin spoke with a low voice, "Taehyung didn't want him to be involved."

Hoseok thought Jimin was just upset at Yoongi but by he time he sees the latter's pleading eyes- he gave in. Maybe it was for the best.

They should probably be extra careful too.

"I'll track his location, so give me his number." The two rushed to Hoseok's desk, with Jimin following his instructions to the best he can as he made sure he didn't miss anything.

Hoseok did his job- as a skilled man he was and with Yoongi's lesson on locating numbers, he finally sees the small blinking light on the map displayed on the screen.

"Bingo." The detective grins, transferring the location to his phone before collecting some of his important necessities. "I have his location now, hopefully this would be of help."

Jimin was so thankful that Hoseok knew some things that they sure needed. It lessened their problems upon Taehyung's whereabouts though he was still worried if the male was okay.

The latter then pulls the pistol Hoseok had stocked on his bottom drawer. "Just in case?" Jimin smiles, pecking his boyfriend's lips who grabbed the gun out of his hold- hiding it by the back hem of his pants.

"Just in case." Hoseok corrects, with the two running off his office and to Jimin's car- with the location being the source of their main rescue.
