SNOWBLAST POV

It was a challenge to get it in the right position; I was amazed that Madeline hadn't noticed the disc missing when I tore her sleeve. With my mouth and hands restrained, getting it to where it was against my chestplate took some time, but I managed it. Once it was attached, I just had to tap it, and then I felt the tightness of the straps loosening as I slowly shrunk in size.

But the second those straps were loose enough to slip out of them, I did. I was about to let that guy have it when Cassie, well... Exploded.

It wasn't heat so much as a sudden burst of light and energy that radiated out from her in a dome, only visible for a second before it was gone, along with the chair she'd been in and her clothes, unfortunately.

I sat up on the floor of the cage, putting a hand to my helm as I saw her lying there on the floor. In my other hand was the disc that had shrunk my size down to a human's, small enough to slip through the bars. I'd have to thank Doc Greene and tell him his invention works when we got home.

Cassie was down, but the jerk with the pistol was not. He pulled himself to his knees, aiming at her motionless form. That was the last straw. The next thing I remembered was grabbing his hand, snatching the weapon out of it and then throwing both him and the gun across the hangar like a fraggin' ragdoll with all my strength. Forty feet he flew, and then into the wall. Now he was definitely out.

"Dude."

I looked up and saw Priscilla coming down the stairs with wide eyes, "We can do that!?"

It was at this point that I noticed the sudden dexterity and looked down at my hands... They weren't attached to wings anymore, instead arms with fins on the sides of my forearms. I...I was in bot mode. How in Cybertron was I in bot mode!?

I didn't have time to ponder when and how this had happened, I needed to get Cassie out of there. I ran over to her, bending down over her. "Cass...Cassie." I murmured, gently shaking her.

"Ssssss..." She struggled to speak, her eyes looking at me, but she was wiped out, and rightfully so.

"You need to get her out of here."'

I looked up as Priscilla handed me her coat, "What about you? You're not safe here either."

"I need to stay here and keep a grip on the situation. The authorities have been called on Mother and they'll be here any minute to deal with this, so you two need to get out of here before then. Go."

I didn't hesitate any longer, taking the coat and wrapping Cassie up in it before picking her up in my arms. My side throbbed from where it had hit the bars of the cage earlier, but I didn't have time to think about that. "Just hang on..." I whispered as Cassie rested her head on my shoulder. She was extremely warm, I hoped she was going to be okay.

I ran for the door, freezing shut every door I passed for good measure. I didn't know how many people and guards there might be in this facility, but I didn't want to encounter any of them. My footsteps echoed through the corridors as I searched for the way out, passing through some intersections more than once.

As I finally found and broke free of the front door, I noticed that Cassie's outburst had wiped out most if not all of the power in the building. I heard the police sirens and bolted across the parking lot and into the trees, climbing the sudden incline before pausing to rest for a moment. Though I was now effectively hidden in the dense wood, I could see the police cars rolling into the parking lot, their lights flashing brightly in the darkening scene.

Cassie moaned softly, and I started going again. I needed to get her somewhere safe, somewhere we could both rest and get a grip on the situation. "Just hold on, Cassie... We're almost there..."
