"So, you're allowed to sleepover Friday night?" Evelyn asked over the phone. We've been planning a sleepover for the past week and I had to ask my mom for permission. Thankfully, she said yes.
"Yeah, she said it's okay. She'll pick me up later in the afternoon." We both squealed with excitement. We were best friends after all. But I know that we were excited for different reasons.
Evelyn was probably excited because we're best friends and our traditional sleepovers are always fun, but I was really excited this time because I was going to come out to her.
Last week, I came out to my mom as lesbian. I had always known I liked women. I've been hiding my sexuality for so long and I decided that it was finally time. I was elated when my mom was supportive me. For some reason, I expected her to disappointed in me, but she wasn't!
Tomorrow night, I was going to come out to my best friend Evelyn. We've known each other for years and I trust her with everything. I think it's important that I tell her that I'm lesbian. I actually like Evelyn more than a friend , but I'm not planning on telling her any time soon. Evelyn lives in quite a strict household and is filthy rich. Her parents would want her to fall in love with a rich guy. Evelyn was still my bestie and I had already accepted that. I'll still love her forever though.
