Chapter 15

I pushed through the doors and tried to run out of the building.

My parents guards caught me and grabbed both of my arms. As they dragged me away, I kicked and screamed for them to let me go but to no avail.

Before I was pushed in the car, my parents stopped in front of me. I looked down in embarrassment.

"We leave for one month and you and your friend suddenly become brainwashed by gay people?!" My father yelled.

"I'm sorry." I apologized sheepishly.

"You won't be seeing Veronica or anybody else again!" He yelled again.

"Now everyone will know you as the lesbian daughter. You should be ashamed of yourself for embarrassing us like that. You had everything going for you, yet you had to ruin it all with this nonsense!" My mother fumed.

"Just wait till we go home..." My father said harshly.

I was pushed into the backseat of the car and my parents drove in a different car. My parents were never like this to me, I always behaved well and was never scolded often, but this was different.

VERONICA POV

It's been a week since I last saw Evelyn. Ever since we started dating, we hung out more and more, but she hasn't called or texted since the assembly. I'm worried about her and I just hope everything is okay.

I saw her rush out of the gym and I wanted to follow her, but I noticed her parents and bodyguards too so I didn't bother. I sat back down and took out my phone secretly. I texted her twice 'hey is everything alright?' 'Lmk when you got back home safely!'

The rest of the day, I couldn't help but think about Eve. She definitely would've answered by now, but it still says delivered. I didn't wanna spam her so I let it be.

And that's how it was for a long time. Eve never showed up to school, never called, never hung out with me, or even saw me. I eventually found out she was at home and being homeschooled.

I was so confused, but I was determined to see Evelyn. I snuck into her backyard multiple times with big signs and threw little pebbles at her window, but she would never respond. Until one day, she finally opened her curtains and noticed me.

She gave me her sweet warm smile and gave me a finger heart. I was ecstatic and I couldn't believe my eyes. After two weeks , I made eye contact with my girl.

I mouthed the words "are you okay?" and she mouthed "yes"

She walked away for a second before coming back with a sign that read: "but I can't leave the house..."

I frowned and mouthed "why?"

She flipped the notebook and wrote down something else. She then showed me the paper and it read: "my parents think this will cure my attraction to you :( "

I scoffed and mentally rolled my eyes. I looked up again when I noticed Eve was writing down something else.

"They won't let me have any communication with you at all. They took away my phone and I can't use any of the home phones. And they locked me in my room 'so I could think about my actions'" The paper read.

I was about to mouth something back when I heard someone's footsteps. I quickly hid behind a nearby bush and Evelyn closed her curtains.

I covered my mouth in hopes of them not being able to hear my heavy breathing.

I watched as one of the bodyguards walked around the area and looked for anything suspicious. He turned his back and I took this chance to run away.

I slowly got up and checked my surroundings again before attempting to make a run for it.

I tripped on a twig and went flying into the ground. I fell on my face and dirt got in my mouth. I squealed in disgust and spit it out immediately.

My knees were also dirty and were covered in dirty from the ground. As I was cleaning off my knees, I saw two pair of shoes in front of me. I looked up and two of their bodyguards were glaring at me. I started to back away, but it was no use since they picked me up and dragged me all the way out.

I was thrown outside of their home and was told to never come back ever again.

I walked back home crying and I had to come up with another plan.

I was going to send her love letters.
