Kiara POV

Everything ached as I strained my eyes open after regaining consciousness, with little memory of how I blanked out in the first place. The only thing I seemed to recall was the warmth that filled me when I had been with JJ. My insides twisted into a tight knot as I surveyed my surroundings and figured out that I was no place good. It was dark; really dark. Even through squinting I couldn't make out much, besides that I was restrained to some kind of chair. I tugged my wrists yet was met with a rattling sound as cool metal touched my skin: handcuffs. Opening my mouth to speak, it came to my attention that my lips had been taped too. A feeling of trepidation was taking over me fast, as I sat helplessly in the gloomy room. Suddenly, muffled noises sounded from my beside me and I made my best attempt at turning to make out an outline of another person in a similar state to myself: Sarah. From what I could make out, her entire body was shaking as she too made an attempt at moving, only to be met with restraints.

"Hello ladies." A rather deep voice spoke as several footsteps sounded and a door creaked slowly to a close. My heart was thumping hard against my chest as my eyes darted around to try and make out the source of the voice. A candle flickered in the direction of the door, revealing a group of 5 men, 2 of whom I recognised from when we were running down the ally. Fury boiled inside of me as I met the gaze of the one whom I'm sure had shot John B, and he simply shot me a smirk. And it wasn't the kind of playful smirk that JJ wore 99% of the time, it was an evil smirk, full of hatred and lacking empathy. He walked over slowly, settling his gaze on Sarah and bending down to her level. Her face was flushed with fear as the man lifted a hand up to stroke her cheek, the unforgiving smirk still plastered across his face. She flinched away as he touched her, and his grin grew wider, as if her fear only prompted him to continue.

"Ok, enough. That's not what we're here for Jerald." A gruff tone broke the eerie silence as a look of disappointment crossed Jerald's face.

"We're not done, princess." He sneered as he backed away slowly, leaving Sarah paralysed with terror. The man who had ordered Jerald away stepped forward, placing one hand on his hip and using the other to rub a disgusting beard which had bits of food entangled in the nest.

"Listen. This could go either one of two ways. You know why we're here, and you're going to give us the information we need. Don't make us get it out of you the hard way, you really don't want that." He spoke in an intimidating tone and I scowled as he bent down and ripped the tape from my mouth, causing a light sting. Anger was coursing through my veins and I had to bite down on my lip and fight the urge to spit right in his face.

"Now, where's the gold?" The question echoed inside my head for a while as I attempted to process the situation. We had been kidnapped because of the gold? To tell the truth, I wasn't really sure of where exactly it was, but I wasn't going to be feeding these idiots any information whatsoever. And I just had to hope that Sarah was conjuring similar thoughts.

"I don't know what your talking about." I replied in a blunt tone, watching as his face contorted in anger and he gritted his teeth. He raised his eyebrow at Sarah and she shrugged hesitantly, her chest rising and falling at a rapid rate.

"Look. I'm not playing games, ok? So I'm gonna ask you one more time. Where is the gold." His tone was eerily calm, and I paused for a moment, letting out a shaky breath. This was not going to end well.

"I told you. I don't know what you're talking about." There was a brief silence as tensions thickened, before he lifted up a large hand and brung it down to my cheek forcefully, causing a sting which was a little more painful than the tape ripping off. I gasped as my face turned sideways from impact, before I forced my infuriated gaze back to his.
