Chapter 7

Jennie's POV

What's taking her so long? I'm currently at the parking lot with Lisa, and we're still waiting for Jisoo unnie. I already told this girl that she should go ahead and that I can wait for unnie, didn't think that Lisa would stay with me. I mean, we barely know each other, she could've went and be with her other friends already, but she's here. And that's something.

I was already about to lose my mind, when Lisa offered to drive us there. I'm still unsure whether it would be a good idea to come with her, things might get awkward you know? But being the persistent girl that she is, I had no choice but to go with her.

I'm in her car right now, and the interior of it looks really nice. Brown leather seats, dark tinted windows, carbon fiber lining for the doors, but what really caught my attention was the smell. It smells like her. I mean, of course it would smell like her, this is HER car, but it smells comforting. Vanilla mixed with a little woody smell. It's nice.

"Didn't pegged you for being the silent type.", she says while we were stopped at a red light.

"Well, didn't pegged you for being the flirty type. I guess it goes both ways." I gave her a grin, she chuckled and continued driving when the light turned green.

"Lalisa. Lalisa Manoban." She gave me a quick glance and continued focusing on the road. Where are we even going? I should've asked unnie. Now, I'm in someone's car, who I just met a while ago, and I don't know where we're even going.

"I figured that I should tell you. You seem tensed over there. Now you know my full name. You can trust me you know?" Trust. One word. One word that immediately reminded me of my past. I've already given all my trust to that certain person, who clearly didn't deserve it, that I don't think I can trust other people anymore.

I ignored what she was saying and responded, "Where are we going by the way? I didn't had the chance to ask unnie."

Instead of anwering, I felt the car stopped outside a 90's diner. "We're here." She went out and got over to my side to open the door for me. After I got out, we went inside the diner side by side.

Checkered tiles. Neon lights. Red stools. I love it here. I never really saw this before, when I was still here. In my defense though, it has been a really long time since I was last here in South Korea, so it's not my fault. Okay. Technically it was, since I'm the one who moved away, but I had reasons. Okay enough of that.

I followed Lisa and we sat down in a booth at the far end left corner of the diner. Our friends are still not here which surprised me 'cause I thought they would be here first. A waitress came over to our table and gave us the menu. While Lisa was busy looking at the menu, and that's also what I'm supposed to do, I can't help it but give the waitress a glare. She was not being subtle about checking Lisa out, and this dumb girl right here. I don't know if she's that oblivious or if she's enjoying the way that this girl is practically undressing her in her mind.

I coughed loudly and gave the flirty waitress my order. She wasn't even paying attention! I looked over at Lisa and saw her stifling her laugh, I kicked her legs. She quickly held her leg and gave the flirt a tight smile and told her order. When the flirt moved away from our table, she immediately laughed.

"You think it's funny huh?" I gave her my most intimidating glare and she quickly shut her mouth. You better.

Instead of looking at her, I focused myself on looking at the interior of the diner. I felt my phone vibrate, "Where are you?? I told you to wait for me at the parking lot!"

I'm already pissed because of the monkey sitting right in front of me, and this chicken is making me even more pissed off. "Yah! You told me that an hour ago! We've waited for you for almost 30 minutes! Instead of shouting and asking me where I am, why don't you---" Unnie immediately cut me off "Wait we?? Who's we? Who are you with???"

I rolled my eyes, "I'm with Lisa. Can you please hurry up? We already ordered for our food." Without waiting for her to reply, I hung up.

I felt Lisa looking at me, so I looked at her as well. "What??" I raised one of my eyebrows at her and asked irritatedly.

"Woaah. Chill lady. Didn't know you could be this feisty.", she says while putting her hands up and grinning.

"I'm not in the mood to play jokes with you Manoban." I crossed my arms over my chest and looked outside the window. She must've sensed that I was not joking.

"Hey, I was just---", she was about to say something but I quickly cut her off. "Could you please just shut up?!"

She looked at me, stunned, and looked at the other people who were sitting close to our table. I looked over as well, and saw some of them looking at us.

I don't know what has gotten over me. Lisa gave me a quick nod and proceeded to focus her view outside. After that scene, she hasn't really talked to me or gave me glance. She's just staring out the window. Why did I even do that??

Jisoo's POV

"Hey! We're...." I excitedly went over to the booth where I saw our friends, only to slow down when I saw that none of them were talking. "Here."

I can see Jennie pouting with her arms crossed over her chest, Lisa staring outside the window with a serious face, while Seulgi, Moonbyul, and Irene are all giving me an awkward smile. Chaeyoung's with me by the way hihi.

I sat down next to Moonbyul and whispered, "What happened here?" Then I pointed at Jennie and Lisa.

"We don't know. When we came here, they were already like that. Their food were already in front of them, but they weren't eating. Nor talking." I gave the both of them a glance again and started to think. Jennie's pouting. Lisa's serious. Jennie must've done something this time.

To say that the dinner that we had at the diner was awkward as heck is an understatement. Everytime one of us would start talking, Lisa would give us a glare, making us shut up immediately. I tried making jokes here and there, but then Jennie would be the one to give me a glare, so I stopped. They're scary!

After eating, I told Jennie that I would be the one who'll drive her home, she was about to disagree, when Chaeng interrupted us and said that she was going with Lisa. She gave me a knowing look, I understood and gave her a nod.

I shouldn't have been late! If only Jennie went with me, then we wouldn't have an awkward dinner for our celebration. It's all my fault.
