Chapter 9

Lindsey Pov.

So, dad decided to wake me up at four o'clock in the morning, telling me that I needed to get ready for school. Before I got out of bed I got on my phone and decided to check my social media accounts.

After I did that I dragged myself out of my comfortable bed to get dressed for the day. I am not looking forward to school mainly because I don't know what will happen. After I got dressed I want to the kitchen to get me something to eat. ( Lindsey outfit above)

When I walked into the kitchen I saw Sara, dad, Aspen, and the boys sitting at the table eating breakfast and talking to each other. I got me some water and peanut butter crackers then sat down at the table. When I sat down dad told me that I was going to school late today because Sara could only get me a doctor's appointment for this morning.

I said, "K."

I completely forgot that I had to go to the doctors today, but I really didn't care that much.

Dad left with Aspen and the boys, leaving me and Sara. Sara told me to go get my thing because we would be leaving in a few minutes.

So, I went to my bedroom and got my school stuff and my phone. After I got everything I needed I saw Sara waiting for me, so we could leave.

When Sara pulled up to the doctor's office I started to get a little more nervous. Sara walked up to the front desk, I think Sara and the receptionist knew each other because they were talking like they were friends. Then I remembered that Sara, is a nurse and she probably worked here. Which would make sense because when we got to the back Sara, knew almost everyone?

Nothing too eventful happened at the doctors all they really did was check my ears and gave me a hearing test. It came back that I did have a little bit of hearing loss. Which I already knew about, but anyway Sara took me to school. She told me that she has the day off today so if I needed anything just call her.

I said, " K." Then I grabbed my backpack out of the backseat of the car. I went to the main office to check-in they gave me a tardy slip, that had my doctor's note attached to it. Before I left the office one of the lady's sitting behind a desk told me that I needed to go see my dad before I went to my first class.

I nodded then went to my dad's office, I knocked on the door he told me to come in. He asked, " So, how did the apartment go."

"Ok I guess, it was really boring though, " I said.

He laughed a little bit, then handed me a schedule that had my classes and the room numbers. Dad asked me if I wanted him to show me where my first class was. I said, " yeah, if you don't mind."

"So, here's your class of the day, oh and you need to get your make up work from the last class you missed." He said to me before he left.

After dad left to go back to his office, I knocked on the door. Shortly after knocking this older man who looked to be in his late 40s or early 50s answered the door to the classroom.

"So, you must be the new student everyone is talking about, you know it's not a very good first impression to be late on your first day, " the older teacher said to me.

"Sorry my stepmom had to take me to the doctors this morning, " I told him.

" Sure you did, I bet you're just using that as an excuse, " he said to me.

I gave him my tardy slip and doctor's excuse. He just grunted and rolled his eyes. Then he told me to find an empty desk. It took me a little off guard that a teacher could be this rude to a new student. But maybe he was just having a bad day or something.

The only open desk was by a guy who looked like an athlete. He was talking to some of his friends, when I sat down at the desk him and his friends looked at me and said, "Hi."

I just waved at them. During the class, I noticed every so often that the guy I'm sitting next to kept staring at me. When class was over, I packed up my stuff and got my schedule back out, so I could try to find my next class.

As I was leaving the classroom I was stopped by a guy his name was Nathan. He looked like the guy I was sitting next to in the last class I was in. Nathan asked me if he could have my snap chat so we could talk. I said yeah sure.

When lunch finally rolled around I found two friends to sit with their names are Leigh and Ember.

While we were sitting at lunch, Ember asked, me how I was liking the school.

I told them that it was ok, but the English teacher is a jackass. Leigh laughed and said, " yeah he's that way towards everyone except the ballplayers."

Leigh, Ember, and I continued talking until Nathan came up to me and asked if I wanted to sit with him. I said no, I'm hanging out with Leigh and Ember today. He just said, " ok you lose then."

When Nathan left Ember and Leigh looked shocked that I actually said that to him.

" What?" I asked them.

Do you realize who that was? Leigh asked me.

"Yeah, it was just Nathan what's the big deal," I said to them.

"Nathan is a football player here at the school he also rides dirt bikes to." But Nathan is the biggest ladies man in this whole county." He also has a girlfriend named Liza." Ember informed me.

All I said was, "Oh."

When school was over I went to go find dad so we could go home. Aspen, Evan, and Tyler all had to stay because of their sports teams and clubs.

When dad and I got home, I went up to my room to start working on homework.
