Brittnee’s POV
“Orange.” I answered Niall as I swirled my left over yogurt around in it’s cup.
“Wrong.” He smirked and squeezed my hand lightly.
“What? You can’t tell me my favorite color is wrong.” I said laughing.
“Sure I can.” He shrugged and took my yogurt from me, spooning some of it into his mouth.
“Are you joking right now? Are you actually eating my food? I’m in the hospital you jerk!” He laughed and placed a sloppy kiss on my cheek.
“Don’t be so dramatic, you’re perfectly fine.” He clumsily climbed into my bed next to me, slinging his arm around my shoulder. I draped one arm over his waist and hugged him tightly.
“Do you want to get yelled at again?” I looked up at him and started tracing circles on his arm that wasn’t around my shoulder.
“Well, I wasn’t ready the last time… I’m on alert.” He shrugged.
“This has happened like five times now, and I’ve only been here for one night. I think you’re overestimating your abilities…” I chuckled and poked his stomach.
“I’m sorry, are you… are you doubting my abilities?” He said in mock horror.
“That’s kind of hard when you have none.” I shrugged and he gasped.
“If you weren’t in the hospital I’d tickle you so hard right now…” He shook his head.
“Because that’s utterly horrifying.” He rolled his eyes and kissed the top of my head.
“Do you think she’ll be okay?” I changed topics abruptly, the smile fell off Niall’s face and his eyebrows furrowed together.
“I don’t know Bee, they’re trying… Paul’s sent out a request to all the local radio stations, they’re trying to keep up with all of the girls that are coming in. One of them has to be a match…” He trailed off. I’d asked my doctor about donating when he came in this morning but it’s impossible, I’m too sick. It wouldn’t end well for either of us.
Just then the door opened and Liam walked in, his eyes were blood shot and puffy. He’d been crying.
“She won’t even talk to me.” He ran a hand over his shaved head and closed his eyes, a single tear rolling down his cheek.
“Because of what happened with us?” I asked quietly, already knowing the answer. He just nodded. My heart clenched at the look on his face, this was absolutely killing him. He loved her more than life itself… how Hannah couldn’t see it was beyond me.
“She’s just sat in there by herself crying, she won’t let anyone in.” He looked at me with pleading eyes.
“Right, well I’m going to talk to her.” I sat up and started unhooking myself from all of the machines around me, they all started going off. I sighed and face palmed; damn heart monitor…
“Babe, what the hell are you doing?”’ Niall got up and helped me off the bed, I tried to stand but my legs wouldn’t hold me up.
“I need to go talk to her, this is my fault.” I said frustrated. Niall shook his head but didn’t argue, knowing that I was extremely stubborn. He sat me down on the bed and pointed to me,
“Stay there, I’ll be right back.” I nodded slightly confused and watched him disappear out of the room. I raised an eyebrow towards Liam but he just shrugged, looking as confused as I was. Niall came back into the room two minutes later, pushing a wheel chair in front of him. I glared at the thing and sighed.
