Fast forward 1 week

Today is May 16th. It's exactly one month until my birthday. My mom said she's gonna tell me where we are going a week before we go. I'm kind of excited. Mostly for the gifts, but I guess a trip might be fun too.

It's a Thursday, but there's no school tomorrow. Some holiday or something. I put on a white tank top, with my black ripped jeans, and a sweater over it. David had to be to school early today, so I'm gonna ride with Amadeo.

Deo: Cmon ailani!
"Okay I'm coming!"
I grab my checkered vans, and run downstairs. Honestly I look a hot mess. I'll fix myself up in the car.

They're doing some construction around my way, so we have to take the long way to school. That's why Amadeo was rushing me like that.

My brother used to be my best friend. He taught me how to ride a bike, and braid hair. When he started high school, I was starting junior high. Ever since then, we drifted apart. I guess it's all a part of growing up. He got all popular in school, and is so into his video games, that I hardly even see him on the weekends. Not until dinner.

Amadeo: Um.. so... you have a boyfriend or anything
"No."
Amadeo: weren't you going out with uhh...David or something like that
"No uhm...wh-why'd you think that... we're friends. I wouldn't...I'm not dating David."
Amadeo: Hm...you're getting really defensive. Do you like him or something.
"NO. Why are you even saying that bro. Cmon now we're friends. How are you and your girlfriend.Ya know the one you stay on the phone with."
Amadeo: Ok first of all...if you like him, just tell him. And second of all, the girl I'm always on the phone with has been my best friend since freshman year.
"Yeah okay buddy. So is David."
Amadeo: But you like David though.
I look at Amadeo with an annoyed face. Whenever he does talk to me, he always knows what he's talking about.
"Fine. I do like David a little, but he has a girlfriend anyways."
Amadeo: Since when does DAVID have a girlfriend. No girl is gonna let their man hang out with another girl as much as he hangs with you.
"But I saw his texts with her."
Amadeo: OHHHH! You read his messages!? Bruh are you crazy. What did they say.
"They were flirting and calling each other cute and stuff. Then the girl was telling David that he needed to tell me something, and that they couldn't keep it a secret anymore. Probably about them being together. At this point I don't even care. And BY THE WAY his phone was left opened, and I just happened to see their messages.
Amadeo: Aight, do you know this girl?
"Yeah. Her name is Brielle."
Amadeo: Have you ever seen them flirt, or kiss, in person?
"Uhh...not really"
Amadeo: They most likely aren't together. Unless they really are trying to just keep it a secret. I probably would have known by now anyways. David is the bro.

I take a deep breath, and slump down in my seat. Maybe Deo is right. He wouldn't keep such a big secret like that from me. Speaking of big secrets, maybe I should tell David about who I saw working the pizza delivery the other day. Maybe he shouldn't know yet. Hm...I guess we'll both have secrets that we won't tell huh? Karma's a bitch.

We pull up to the school, and I automatically see my best friend standing there waiting for me. No it's not David. Her name is Ashanti.

We became friends when a teacher mistakenly switched our names. She's super pretty, and can keep a strong healthy relationship. At the moment she's single, but her last relationship only ended because the boy had to move away. I really wanted to see them together for a while. Everyone loves her to DEATH. Especially the boys. But, she's not looking for a weird hookup, she loves long lasting, romantic relationships.

Ashanti : Hey bitch
"Hey bitch. How'd you sleep.
Ashanti : Terribly. I couldn't stop thinking about cheer practice.
"Holy shit! Is that today!? I don't have my stuff ready!"
Ashanti : Calm down girl. You can use my spare clothes.
"Thanks girl. You're a life saver."
Ashanti : No prob. Anyways how are you and Ducky?
I see that slight smirk forming on her face. "Ducky" is the code name we gave David. Yes, I know it's corny, but nobody knows who we are talking about, so it's all good.
"Yikes don't even get me started. He hangs with me 24/7 but he has a whole bitch."
Ashanti : Dang...that's cold. Are you even positive he's dating her. I mean he is always with you.
"You sound just like Amadeo. I'm almost positive he's with her. I guess we'll just both have secrets from each other. I'm not telling him about you know who, until he tells me about his "new bae"."
Ashanti : Oh shoot! I almost forgot you saw De-
"SHHHH! He might be around. I don't need him to hear about this yet."
Ashanti : Okay then sweetie. He probably won't even be pissed. I say just tell him.
"Heck no! I don't want him going all crazy on the dude. Anyways, how are YOU doing with finding a boo.
Ashanti : I dunno I don't really wanna be with ANYONE right now. There is someone who's kinda cute, but ya know I- Well really... I guess I could go for it right?
"Yes! Who is he. Wait don't tell me now. Sleepover at my place tonight. I'll invite Christianna too. We'll spill EVERYTHING okay?
Ashanti : Sounds valid. Text me the details later?
"Sounds cool. I gotta get to Chem though so later babe."
Ashanti : Later baby
I give Ashanti a hug, and head off to class. Today feels like a good day. Well it did. All up until I saw... THEM.
