Chapter 1 Part 3

You stood at you podium facing Kaede. Soon enough, we talked about the cameras Kaede set up and how Shuichi and them were planning out catching the mastermind.

"Wow!" Kokichi said at one point. "It's nice to know how Shuichi was just going to capture the mastermind, and not just kill the mastermind!"

We went to the fact that that Tsumugi went to the bathroom, but that Kaito was at the from entrance to the game room with Tenko, so she was let off the hook.

"Oh. Thank goodness." Tsumugi was glad she didn't have to speak.

Kokichi again supected Tsumugi because she nade the cameras. But as long as Kaito and Tenko's statements were there, she was clear of suspicion.

Then Gonta trying to kill Rantaro was brought up by Kurimi. But Kaede told the others how it would be impossible to to have thrown the shot put ball.

After Tsumugi brought up the idea of the intervals, everyone's suspicion went onto Shuichi.

"No!" He said. "I didn't kill him!"

Ryoma argued otherwise. "Perhaps you thought Rantaro was the mastermind, and tried to end this killing game."

"No!" You yell. "That can't be right!"

"Yes!" Kaede shouted. "That's wrong! There's no way."

"(Y/N)," Kokichi intervened, "didn't you get so angry at Shuichi for trying to steal Kaede from you? Aren't you supposed to use this, as an opportunity to clai-"

"No!" You said. "I believe in Kaede. And her judgment of people. And-"

"He threatened Tenko's life!" Kokichi brings up.

"Yeah!" Tenko said. "Arentyou going to-"

"No!" You shout. "I'm right! Besides, even if I'm wrong, anyone can be a good person if they just try. Shuichi, or anyone who bullies you, deserves better. Like a hug!"

Shuichi blushes and you smile. The rest of the room goes silent. 

"W-wait!" Kokichi studders. "A-Are you serious, you can't be that dum-"

"Yeah!" Kaito yells "I agree! As long as you believe in everyone, you can survive anything!"

The room falls silent.

"Hey!" Kaede said. "Shall we get back to the class trial, okay?"

The room moves on and and Kaede proves how Shuichi is innocent.

After another hour of talking, Kaede is suspected to be guilty.

"NO!" You refused to believe it. "NO STOP IT YOU GOT IT WRONG!"

"S-sorry (Y/N)." Shuichi said.

"We've established that is Kaede." Kiibo said. "It's our only option."

"No!" You yell. "If anything it's me! It's me! I'm guilty! Don't vote for her please!"

"(Y/N) no!" Kaede said. "It's my fault. This is my burden to bare. Monokuma, just start the voting."

You vote Korekiyo.

Everyone else voted for your sister.

After you got off your podium, you ran to hug Kaede, crying.

You held her as she was saying goodbye.

"Sister." Kaede said. "I know things are hard, but you'll get through this."

"Please no, please no." You cried. "Don't go. You know you are my only family left. I can't."

"I know," she said, "but here's some time to make new friends, right? You said, no matter what comes your way, you'd continue smiling, right?"

"No, please, don't go. I need you Kaede!"

"Promise me you will smile again?"

"No."

"Pinky promise?" Kaede held out her pinky.

Monokuma was already getting ready to execute Kaede. "Let's give it everything we've got!"

You're shaking but raise you hand and pinky promise.

"Thank you." She said. "Goodbye sister."

"It's punishment time!"

"Your smile is beautiful." That was Kaede's last words before she was hung to death. You passed out after that.

Gonta had to carry to back to your room.

There was a message that Kaede gave to Shuichi before she died. Once he got back to his dorm room, he went to read it.

"Dear Shuichi,
I have given all I can to (Y/N), but I fear this is the last thing I can do. (Y/N) is innocent. At least, their mind set is. They are gullible and naive. But strong and smart. They are loving at the end of the day. Please, if I can ask you one thing, it is to protect them. Please. I can't make you do anything, but this is my pray.

"I promise." Shuichi said to himself. "I promise to protect (Y/N) Akumatsu."
