Ashtai flounced her way back towards the small private suite that was cordoned off from the rest of the city's finest inn. She and Baldric had rented it a few weeks ago to have a sort of base of operations, but she knew Baldric was using it for more than that. Not that she minded, she would never hold the Bard's vices against him. She, herself, a sheltered lady of a palace and daughter of the court of Warlord Yasmin or not, had quite a few of them.

The setting sun bounced off of her light caramel coloured shoulders and long silk white hair, and there was no lack of attention from those around her, even as they were packing up the merchant square for the night.

Finding her way to the smallest fruit stand, she requested the rest of the fruit they had for sale. Grapes, peaches, a few spare mangoes, strawberries and cherries. The country was not known for fertility, but the area where they had decided to live for the month was fertile like an oasis. Many of these fruits had other properties, besides being delicious, and buying from the smallest food stand almost guaranteed that one of the poorer families of the city made a living. And the same went on for the smallest salted meats stand, vegetable farmer and baker.

Having quite a bit to carry home, she debated the way she wanted to carry them. She could use some magic, or find bigger bags... Before she even had to decide, a man from the village walked up to her with a grin and offered his services. The woman happily accepted and they chatted their way to her front door.

"I've got it from here, thank you very much, Kuzon."

The man flashed her a grin and there was a moment of awkward silence before she reached out and touched his arm. Instantly, the man was calm and intrigued in whatever she was about to say.

"Don't fret so much around me, I am not that scary. If you do wish to help me again, I know where to find you, hm? And you know where to find me? It can't be too hard in a city like this..."

After the man had sauntered off like he had won the world's biggest prize, she turned her key in the door and opened up to see Baldric in bed with the woman from the library. She was beautiful, even Ashtai could see that the day before. And intelligent too. The way the two of them had talked in the library, Ashtai would have just decided to spend the day away from their shared suite without him needing to ask. Farbeit from her to deny the man his pleasures.

Several looks flashed over the naked woman's face, embarrassment being the most prominent. The woman stood up quickly, got dressed and looked Ashtai up and down with wide eyes before nodding to her and walking out the door.

"Do they always have to look at me like that?" Ashtai pouted, "I mean, we all met yesterday. I'm not that scary."

"You're a Kalashtar, sweetie. You look so far removed and so godly to them. Even the way you walk is other-worldly. Can you blame them?"

He peeked out the door behind her as the woman had now disappeared from view.

"You sure do know how to make an entrance don't you, Little One?" the currently blue-skinned man drawled, lounging about the bed, wearing nothing as per usual.

"Well darling, I stayed out all day just like you requested. Not my fault you couldn't seal the deal quicker."

There was a flare in his eyes, like she had just challenged his manhood before he chuckled, "Oh I sealed the deal, darling. Several times in fact. I just kept her a little while longer than I meant to because she is fascinating. You should give her a try."

Ahstai rolled her amethyst eyes and dropped the food on the fur rug before closing and locking the door behind her.

"Are you hungry for dinner, Dark One?" she said sweetly before making her way over to her bed on the other side of the room, peeling off the delicate dress she wore and hanging it up beside her white and gold robes.

Baldric took the time to admire her almost naked form from the back, sizing up her tanned 5 foot 2 frame, covered in tattoos. Words, spells, sigils all over her arms, back and thighs. His skin was also covered in tattoos, he glanced down at them momentarily before moving his red eyes back to her. By the time he did so, her back was already covered by the long wavy locks that fell from their pins.

She tied the hair into a ponytail and turned to face him, wearing her usual white silk chemise for wandering about the house.

Baldric stretched his arms above his head, mussing with his hair between his horns before sitting up. The white sheets were tangled about his legs, but he was comfortable.

"What are we making tonight, Little One? Did you bring home any fruit?"

"I was thinking of a sweet and savory stew. And of course, check the bags I just put on the floor darling."

He reached over and found the grapes. Purring in delight he lounged back into bed and ate them from the stem.

"Did you know, Baldric, that you pose?"

"What do you mean?" he questioned, licking the juice form his bottom lip.

"Anything you do, you look like a painting," her studying eyes graced over his body.

"I think that's more likely due to how beautiful I am, not really what I'm doing."

The woman stopped sorting through the bag and slowly crawled her way over to his bed. She leaned against it, her arms and breast pressed seductively into the fabric as she lifted her head to bite a grape off of the vine he held. She let it roll around her tongue for a moment before finally eating it.

He watched her in earnest interest, his mind unable to decide where to land, Her face, her lips or her lovely breasts.

She then moved a bit closer to his face, her head tilted slightly and a devilish gleam behind her half-closed eyes.

Her breath was warm on his face as she spoke, "You're not the only one who can look like a painting."

He took another grape and offered it to her. Two could play at that game.

"Imagine the masterpiece we could make, hm, Little One?"

She took the grape, "accidentally" nibbling on his fingers as she did so, "Maybe so."

The soft growl that escaped his throat was met with an innocent shrug before she laughed gently and went back over to the pile of food on the rug, sorting them out and putting them in their respective cupboards and ice boxes throughout the suite

The two of them sat before the fireplace that was positioned directly between their beds as she stirred the pot, adding bits of vegetables and some mango to the broth and meat. He was the one who tested the flavour as they went, being less susceptible to the steaming heat of the stew before he finally claimed it was perfect.

After she took her bath for the night, she walked across their shared room to stoke the fire, leaving a trail of lavender in her wake. When she finally climbed into her bed, they smiled at each other from across the room.

"You can come sleep over here if you'd like," the man teased, his red skin now visible, swirling his finger over the space in bed beside him, "I could always use a bedtime story."

"You're way too warm, love," she shot back, rolling over in bed to face the wall, "I'd simply burn up."

"What if I promise to not have any blankets and tell my tail to behave?"

"Good night, Baldric," her voice was sweet, but full of sleep.

"Good night, Little One." she whispered back, continuing his delighted pleasure in the grapes she had bought for him.
