the hogwarts express glided peacefully through the endless plains and fields of scotland. blurs of green soared past the window as night approached, the sun slowly descending into the land.
it was now your sixth year at hogwarts. your face felt as though it was fixed into a permanent smile as you glanced around the cabin at the four boys around you, three of which still feeling the effects of a candy high after having bought nearly every sweet from the trolly witch.
you chuckled to yourself as you remembered the look of pure horror when the trolly witch came down the corridor loaded with sweets, only to be attacked by three teenaged boys who begged and pleaded for candies. the poor woman had left trembling, her candy trolly half empty.
the first hour after eating the candy was, in sungjin's words, a nightmare: there was loud singing, random made up spells being shouted and a horde of chocolate frogs on the loose, which sungjin rounded up himself before collapsing in his seat with a long, suffering sigh.
now, the five of you sat quietly, still quite jittery from the candy but too tired to run rampant around the cabin anymore.
"hogwarts, hogwarts, hoggy warty hogwarts," sang dowoon from his spot next to you, his head leaning on your shoulder.
"dowoon, shut up," groaned younghyun, clutching his stomach. he had eaten a majority of the candy and was definitely having his regrets.
"whether we be old and bald or young with scabby knees," dowoon continued, making you laugh. younghyun just groaned again, pulling his hoodie over his face.
"don't you have a prefect meeting to go to soon?" sungjin spoke, glancing at the boy to his left with a brow raised. the boy in question only sulked and nodded.
"that's what you get for being such a goody two shoes," you teased, causing younghyun to direct his glare at you.
"just because i'm a prefect doesn't mean i'm a goody two shoes. besides, i only took the job because my parents thought it'd be a good idea," he grumbled, standing up to reach his trunk from the overhang.
"can you get mine too?" wonpil asked, speaking up for the first time since the great candy heist earlier. he stood up, thanking the taller boy as he was handed his trunk.
sungjin stretched and yawned, standing up to get his as well. even without you asking, he got yours and dowoon's before grabbing his robes.
"i'm going to go change. i'll be right back," he said to the group before opening the sliding door.
the rest of you dressed in the cabin without batting an eye, having gotten to the point of friendship that being undressed around each other was nothing. sungjin, however, was still a little timid around everyone so he chose to get dressed in the bathroom.
younghyun finished dressing quickly, pinning his prefect badge to the front of his robes before waving goodbye, rushing to go to his meeting.
as you finished tying your tie, you looked up to see wonpil struggling with his silently. his cheeks were aflame with shame and your heart clenched. quietly, you walked over to him and released his tie from his shaking grip. you tied it calmly, noting how his blush deepened.
"there you go. no need to be embarrassed, pil. it's hard to tie a tie," you said softly, fixing his collar before reaching to give him a hug. he relaxed in your arms, the two of you laughing as you felt dowoon's arms come around you both.
