Sadie's POV:
I had just accepted to travel the country with a mere-stranger.
I had felt like a psychopath.
I really had nowhere to go but at this point, I would've trusted anyone.
"Are you okay with being recorded?" Finn asked.
"Aren't I already being recorded?" I asked.
"Fair enough." Finn said.
"When's our first stop?" I asked.
"I booked a motel room, I'm sure I can get them to change the room to two beds instead of one, it's a couple of stops away." He answered. "Then, I thought we could maybe just walk around and then when we get tired we can hitchhike." He continued.
"It's like you're asking for us to get kidnapped." I said.
"Basically." Finn said.
I chuckled a little bit.
"We're gonna be here for a while," Finn said. "Might as well get to know each other."
I nod.
"Alright, I'll start." Finn said. "Okay, so, how old are you?"
"I'm eight-teen." I said. "What about you?"
"Nine-teen." He answered.
"Where do you wanna go first?" I asked.
"Well, we'll be staying in the motel, then we're going somewhere close to here, and then we're hitchhiking, like you said, wherever feels right." He answered. "What part of town are you from?" Finn asked.
"The shitty side." I said.
"Wait, what high school did you go to?" Finn asked.
"CrestSide Bay High School." I answered.
"I went to Granite High School." Finn said.
"Ohh, you really are spoiled." I said.
"What does that mean?" Finn asked with a small scoff.
"You're from the rich side of town, that's why I've never seen you." I said.
"Wow, Y'know What, that's pretty accurate." He said.
"I thought you'd be insulted by me calling you rich." I said.
"Why would that insult me?" Finn said.
"I don't know, I have no social skills." I said.
"No friends or anything?" Finn asked.
I shook my head.
"Seriously?" Finn asked in shock.
"People at my school are shittier than my school." I said.
"What about you?" I asked. "Did you have friends?"
Finn laughed.
"A couple but I was never close to them." He answered.
"Why did you invite a stranger instead of a friend?" I asked.
"With old friends it's like, you run out of things to talk about, there's just no spark anymore." Finn answered. "But when it's someone who's name you can barely remember, you just never run out of crap to talk about."
I'm smiling as I talk to him. Maybe, it'a the fact that I'm tired as hell, and any comfortable surface could make me pass out.
"Have you always wanted to do film related stuff?" I asked.
"Yeah, I have." Finn answered. "What did you want to do?"
"I never really knew, my mom wanted me to be a doctor to take care of her in the future, but we both know that just means 'pay off her debt'." I said.
"Your life seems so much more complicated than mine." Finn said.
"It still sucks." I said.
"It's a good thing, it just makes it a lot more interesting." Finn said.
"That's the nicest thing I've ever been told." I said.
"Now that," Finn said "That's sad."
I laughed a little bit.
"I know, but it's true." I said.
"Are you tired?" Finn asked.
I nod. "Is it that obvious?"
"Nah, just the eye bags." He said.
I laughed a little bit.
"We'll arrive at the motel soon, don't worry." Finn said.
"I know." I said.
"Wanna listen to music?" Finn asked.
I nodded.
He gave me his right headphone. I plugged it into my ear.
He moved a seat closer.
"I'll pick a playlist I think you'll like." Finn said. He tapped his phone a little bit.
"Sorry, let me just hit shuffle." Finn said.
He hit shuffle.
The first song to come was Cough Syrup by Young The Giant.
"I don't think you'll like this one." Finn says.
"No, no." I said. "I like it."
Finn smiles.
🎶 Life's too short to even care at all
I'm losing my mind,
Losing my mind,
Losing control... 🎶
The song went
I liked it, I liked it a lot.
It made me tired, but in a good way.
"I'm waiting for this cough syrup to come down." Finn sang in a soft and quiet voice.
"I really like your voice." I said.
"Im sorry, I really like this song." Finn said.
"Me too." I said in agreement. "Can you keep singing it?"
Finn nods.
He sings, silently, but his voice is so smooth and soft, that I forgave his mere-silence.
After a while, the song ends.
A couple more songs come by, but they're not as memorable as that one.
Before I knew it, I managed to fall asleep.

"Wake up." I hear someone whisper in my ear.
My eyes are too heavy to lift.
"Wake up." The voice says once again.
I move my body and now I'm sitting up straight.
My eyes open wider and I start to catch focus.
"We're here." Finn said. "You fell asleep on my backpack."
"Oh, sorry." I apologized.
"No." Finn said. "It was cute."
I smiled.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Time to get off the bus." Finn said.
I chuckled.
"It's almost four-forty-five." Finn answered.
"Thank you." I said.
We walked to the front of the bus and I watched the bus driver opened the bus door.
Finn steps out of the bus.
I was about to take a step down but the bus driver said:
"Hey, Lil' Missy." He said.
I turned around.
"I have a name." I said.
"I'm sorry, I just wanted to say," he stops as I step closer to him.
"He's a keeper, very respectful." He said. "You fell asleep against the window and he put you in a comfortable position and he tried his best to keep me and himself quiet, just for you."
I smiled.
"He's not my boyfriend." I chuckled.
"Sure seemed like it." The bus driver said. "I mean you're running away together."
"Yeah, just friends." I said.
"Sadie?" Finn said.
"I'm coming." I said. "Thank you, and good night."
"Good night."
I step out of the bus and meet Finn.
He's holding my backpack which I didn't even realize.
"You don't have to hold that." I said. "You're tired, I insist." Finn said.

~Time Skip~

Finn somehow managed to change a one queen bedroom, in exchange for two twin sized beds.
I don't even bother changing and just crash into my temporary bed.
"Finn?" I call.
"Yeah?" He said as he was changing in the bathroom.
"Are you sure you're comfortable with a smaller bed?" I asked.
"Yeah, I am." Finn said.
