Joseph Joestar walked alongside Caesar Zeppeli in the crowded, yet beautiful streets of Venice.
Both had some time off from training with their Coach, Lisa Lisa. They were relieved that both of them had time to relax and explore Venice. They had agreed to go to a local café. Joseph's eyes traced over to Caesar, whose walk was tense.
That guy needs to lighten up. Sure, we're here for training against the pillar men, but he acts like everything is a serious matter. Joseph sighed. Hopefully, today will loosen him up and he'll talk to me.
Caesar finally looked in his direction. "Right over here." He pointed to a quaint little restaurant. Joseph tilted his head slightly to the side. "Do Italian pastries taste good? I don't eat them."
Caesar finally broke his demeanor, a slight smile tugging at his lips. "Yes. I can teach you about some of them over caffe."
Joseph smiled. "I think that's a good idea." As they sat down, Joseph stared at the table. He wondered what Caesar was truly like outside of training. So far, he has only gotten a stern boy who doesn't like talking unless it's important. Joseph wanted to know what he liked, disliked, people he knew... wait. Why do I want to know so much? I guess it's because he looks like an interesting guy. I'm probably just attracted to him as an intriguing person.
"Um, earth to Jojo.." Caesar said, annoyed, as he swiped his hand back and forth in front of Joseph's face. Joseph jumped in his chair. "Oh! Yes?" Caesar rolled his eyes. "I suggest a caffe cappuccino. Oh, and perhaps some cornetto." Joseph let out a tiny laugh. "You know I don't know what a 'cornetto' is, but I do know basic coffee. Remember, I've only been in America and Japan." The yellow-haired boy smirked. "Oh, it's simple. Cornettos sort of look like an Italian croissant." "Ohhhh!" Joseph's eyes lit up. "I'll take those then!" Caesar nodded. "As will I."
Joseph looked out towards the sea. It was slightly chilly but felt okay. Seagulls flew overhead, squawking. People went to and fro outside of the tint café the two were hanging out in. Joseph took in the smells around him, it reminded him of Granny Erina's cooking. "So Caesar. Tell me more about yourself." Caesar raised an eyebrow. "What spurred this on?"
Joseph looked back at him passively. "I just want to know more about you. You seem pretty okay."
Caesar chuckled. "Hmm... is that so? Alright then. My grandfather, Will Zeppeli, aided your grandfather, Jonathan Joestar. I am a successor of his work. However," he stared into Joseph's eyes," don't assume I'll get down on my knees and do your bidding." Joseph smirked. "I wasn't gonna say that." Caesar looked out to the sea as well. "I wasn't the best of children. But, nonetheless, I discovered I had hamon." Caesar looked uneasy, however. As if Joseph opened up a pit in his heart.
"Hey. I know you don't know me well, or whatever, but you know I'll listen to anything you tell me. You look kinda.. sad." Caesar was taken aback. "I'm perfectly fine, Jojo. I don't know what you're getting at." He looked away.
Joseph continued to stare out to the sea, mesmerized by its beauty. A songbird flew by, perching on the ledge of the windowsill. Caesar smiled at it, holding his finger out as a perch. The friendly bird got on, chirping peacefully. Joseph closed his eyes, grinning. At least his friend was okay again.
"Ahh, the food is here Jojo," Caesar announced as the waitress set down their breakfast. She started to walk away, and Joseph whispered to Caesar teasingly, "Now don't forget to not flirt with every girl you meet!"
