It had been nearly 2 weeks since Simba had found the newspaper. He had pinned it to his wall along with other clues of his father's whereabouts. If a stranger were to enter Simba's room, they would think that a detective lived there, and Simba was no less than that. Every free minute he would get, Simba would open up the PC and search for any news about the Trillion group. U.S.A. has so far not done any rescue attack and even though this didn't put Simba in any sort of grief, it did confuse him. On the brighter side of things, Simba's trip to Greece was tomorrow and he hadn't packed anything yet. No wonder why he was still awake at 2 in the night. He was skimming his cupboard when his phone buzzed in his pocket. It was a text message from Reyna.
Reyna: Which one should I take?
With this message, she had attached a picture of a black, formal dress and a green T-shirt and trousers with army camouflage.
Simba: Reyna, honestly, we aren't going for a war or something. It's only a mission to rescue my dad. And since when have you been so enthusiastic about it? I thought you were the one telling me yesterday to not take the risk?Reyna: Sim, just tell me which one. And I never said that you shouldn't take the risk. We are army students after all! Take all risks to defeat the enemy. That's our motto, right?
Simba: Yeah, yeah whatever. You can take the camouflage one as Syria is in a desert domain so it will be beneficial and advantageous.
Reyna: Wow Shakespeare! Since when did you start using big words?
Simba: I'm not AJ who uses toddler vocabulary. LOL.
Reyna: Yeah. LOL. Where is AJ btw? He's the last person I expected to sleep early on the day before the trip.
Simba: Yeah that is strange. He might have packed already.
Reyna: Yeah... Talk to you later... I really need to finish packing my bag. Bye.
Simba: Yeah. Same here. Bye.
Simba put the phone on his bedside table and resumed packing his bags.It was nearly 4 a.m. when Simba finished. He slumped onto his couch, a wave of exhaustion overcoming him. He was in no state to sleep now. He had to arrive at the airport before 6. But maybe if he just took a quick nap then nothing would happen...
Simba awoke at an alarm buzzing next to him. He tried to remember about any alarm he had set but he couldn't remember anything. He then looked at the analogue clock on the wall. A rush of panic filled his lungs. The time was 7 am. This was the time when he woke up for an ordinary school day. No no no no no... Simba put his hands on his head. This couldn't be happening. There was still a chance that he could catch the plane as it leaves at 8. Simba quickly checked his phone. There were so many text messages and phone calls from Reyna and AJ that Simba's phone wouldn't open. He was wasting time by checking his phone for messages so Simba put it in his pocket and got his stuff that he had packed a few hours ago. Thank God that he had already changed his clothes for today earlier. Simba quickly popped in his mum's room. She wasn't there. That was strange. He checked downstairs. She wasn't there either. Simba was bewildered. Her mum never left the house before informing him. He checked for any notes in the kitchen and he thankfully found one.
Hey Sim,
You will probably get this letter after you return from your awesome trip! Be sure to send me pictures! I'm off to your Aunt Prerna and Uncle Bhupi's house. I will return the day you get back from your trip. I just didn't want to be left alone. Enjoy your time there sweetheart! Don't do anything silly.
XOXOXOXO MumSimba smiled at the gracefully written letter. But he hadn't any time to express his gratitude to his mother for writing such an astonishing letter. Even though he had a desire to ring her using the landline and ask from where she learnt to put so many hugs and kisses, he couldn't. Simba quickly rang the Taxi service which would come in 3 minutes. He stepped out of the house and waited on the pavement for his taxi. While he was waiting, Simba tried loading his phone. Thankfully, it worked! He rapidly tapped on the messages app and was bewildered to see a staggering 999+ messages from AJ and Reyna. He tried clicking on to their names, however all his attempts proved to be nothing but a failure as his phone screen turned black as soon as he clicked on Reyna's name. Great. At least he knew what he was going to be getting for Christmas- a new phone. Simba saw a black, lustrous car approaching him. He got in without even saying any form of a greeting. " Gatwick Airport, please. Quickly" He spoke. The driver looked stunned. There was no form of appreciation for coming with haste or any compliments on the exquisite condition of his car. Nevertheless, he started his car and made his way for Gatwick Airport.
