Chapter Seven
Hermiones Pov
I was currently following my best friends enemy down the corridor. I suppose most rules had disappeared out the window when it was revealed that I was a pureblood.
'Where are we going?' I ask Draco. He turns to me and gives me a gentle smile. He looks so innocent and fresh like this. More alive. Unlike when he puts up that cold exterior and acts like a snobbish pureblood prat. Who knew Draco Malfoy had such a nice smile?
Shaking my head of its disturbing thoughts I almost walk into Draco as he abruptly comes to a stop outside a pair of double doors.
'This is it.' He says and pushes open the doors.
There are libraries. Then there is THIS library. I gasp and walk inside. I turn to Draco excitedly, unknowingly giving him my first smile.
I rush over to the first bookcase and run my fingers along the shelf. The bookcases were laid out like a large semi circle going all the way round the room. In the middle of the room sat some comfy armchairs and sofas. I could possibly live here!
I pick up a book and make my way over to a seat and drop into it. Draco spends a few more minutes searching then takes a seat beside me. We read in a comfortable silence, okay with each others company but both in the world of the book we were reading.
'Oh I thought so.' Came a loud voice. Both Draco and I swivel round to find a smirking Blaise leaning smugly against the entrance doors. 'It's time to go to breakfast otherwise Mother and Father will have our heads.' Blaise says and Draco mimics picking up a book and throwing it at him which extracts a laugh.
I ignore Draco's pleased look and Blaise's smirking look at Draco. I stand up and put back my book where it came from. I take the arm Blaise is holding and we practically skip out the room.
'You're in a much better mood than you were earlier.' I saw. Blaise nods but says nothing. I turn my head to face the back where Draco is walking fast to keep pace with us.
'Got a letter from Daphne mate?' Draco says and throws a wink at me. I laugh as Blaise turns round and glares at his best mate.
'Shut it.' He says and Draco and I both laugh. My brother puts on a poor attempt of a angry face but he is still skipping which gives it all away.
He leads us to the breakfast hall and we skip right in. Mother and father look at our entrance and exchange glances. If you look close enough you can see the corner of there mouths form a small smile.
'Morning children.' Mother says and Blaise pulls out a chair for me and I laugh and sit down. Maybe today will be better.
'Morning.' We say in unison. Draco in a soft tone, Blaise all cheerful and me slightly hesitant.
'Blaise, do you have any news you would like to share?' Father says and we all turn to look at my brother.
A huge grin spreads out on his face.
'Daphne accepted the marriage contract!' Blaise says and the table breaks out in noise. Mother claps happy and tells him how she is proud of him and father clasps him on the back. I however look at Draco with horror and he looks at me with no emotion then looks away.
Food is then brought out and served and we all begin to eat. Mother turns to me.
'I assume you got your timetable?' She asks and I nod respectively.
'Yes, I do.'
'Do not be late darling. Tardiness isn't an attractive trait.' She says bluntly and takes a small sip of her juice. I notice she cuts her food in very very small pieces and had only took one croissant to eat for breakfast whereas everyone else had a plate of food. She was last to finish food. She ate daintily looking a bit like a chine doll.
