You parked your car and hopped out locking it behind you. You slowly walked down the road looking for house number 56. Your friend Calum had invited you to a New Years party his friend Michael was having. You had talked to Michael a few times before but he wasn't a friend of yours. You were nervous about the party for two reasons. The first being party's weren't really your thing, you were a quiet person who didn't know many people, but you liked it that way. The second reason being Calum knew everyone going to party, and he was the only one you knew who was going, so even though he invited you, you had a feeling that you would be alone most of the night. When Calum had first asked you to come you had said that you didn't want to because it wasn't really your thing but Calum convinced you that you should go, so you agreed. However now that you were at the door of Michaels house you were regretting ever saying yes. You stood staring at the door for a few moments and decided it was a bad idea to even go there in the first place. You were about to turn around and walk away when someone placed their head on your shoulder. You jumped out of freight and were about to run away when you noticed the face belonged to Calum. "Oh my gosh Cal you scared the shit out of me." You said as you started to laugh, Calum laughed too. "I'm sorry, I would have just tapped your shoulder but my hands are full." As Calum said that you looked down at his hands to see bags filled drinks in both his hands. "Why are you getting those now?" You asked unsure why Michael hadn't just got drinks before the party. "Michael hadn't realized how much we needed, all the drinks are gone and no ones even drunk yet." You just laughed at the last part of what Calum had said. You opened the door and held it open for Calum to walk through as he didn't have a spare hand. After he walked through, you followed and then turned round to shut the door behind the two of you. When you turned back around you expected to see Cal standing there but noticed he'd already left somewhere. You looked around and didn't know what to do. For awhile you just stood there awkwardly but then decided to walk around and try not seem like the weirdo with no friends in the corner. You didn't want to be nosy but you ended up looking through all the rooms anyway. You were happy you didn't walk in on anything but then remembered that Calum had said no one was drunk yet and the party hadn't started to long ago anyway. When having looked through all the rooms you didn't know what to do. You walked through to the dining room and saw Michael there so you decided to ask for a glass of water as you didn't drink very often and weren't great at handling alcohol, so you figured it probably wasn't a great idea for you to drink. You walked over to Michael who had a bottle of beer in his hand. You couldn't see his face but you could tell it was him because of his red hair. You tapped his shoulder and he turned around to look at you. "Hey." He said loudly over the music. "Want a drink." He said pointing at his beer. "Um no, but thank you, I was just wondering if I could get a glass of water?" You said trying to be heard over the music. "Oh yeah sure, one sec." Michael replied as he turned back to his group of friends saying he be back in a minute. You followed Michael to the kitchen where he grabbed a cup and poured you a cold glass of water. "So who are you here with?" He said handing you the water. "Well Calum invited me but I have no idea where he is now." You told him "He came over to me before and asked if I'd seen you anywhere." "Oh okay, do you know where he is now?" You asked Michael happy that Calum hadn't just forgotten about you. "No I don't, sorry." Michael answered. "Oh it's fine, I'm gonna go look for him now." You told Michael walking away from the sort of awkward conversation. After looking around the lounge and places were people were standing you still didn't find Calum. You were feeling really tired as the night before you hadn't had a great sleep. You decided to go sit down in a random room for ten minutes. You were gonna drink your water, text Calum and let him know you were leaving and then head home. When you walked into a boys bedroom which you guessed was Michaels you saw someone already sitting in the room strumming on a guitar. "Hey Cal, what are you doing in here?" You said walking into the room and shutting the door behind you. "Oh hey." He said looking up from the guitar. "It was just sorta boring out there, I didn't know who to talk to and I couldn't find you anywhere." "I was looking for you." You said "And I thought you knew like everyone here." "Well I do but they all have other people to talk to, and I would have preferred to talk to you anyway." Cal said with a smirk. "Aww what a cutie." You joked thinking about how Cal often makes flirty remarks to you. Calum patted the spot next to him on the bed, silently telling you to come sit down. As you walked over to the bed he placed the guitar back on the stand which was to the left of the bed. You sat down and Calum just stared at you, you stared back. You looked into the beauty of his eyes and felt butterfly's in your stomach. The both of you continued to stare at each other, the both of you silent, not moving, blocking out the sound of music blaring from another room. After what felt like forever you finally felt your self move, you began leaning in and saw Cal doing the same. With in seconds his warm, soft lips connected with yours and the two of you began to moving your lips slowly, and in perfect sync. Calum placed his hands gently on your hips and your hands found their way around his shoulders. The kiss continued on. Calum began to slowly lay down gently pulling you with him and you ended up laying on top of him. Your breaths became heavy and the two of you pulled away at the same time to regain your breath. The whole time you were both starring into each other's eyes. By time you had regained breath Calum's lips were back on yours, again moving slowly but perfectly in sync. After the most amazing few minutes of your life the kiss had completely ended. You and Calum lay on your sides facing each other. Again staring into each other's eyes with out a word. After minutes apon minutes of beautiful silence Calum spoke up. "So Y/N, does this make you my girlfriend now?" He said smiling and turning a little red as you lay there still staring at him. "I would like that, I would like that a lot." You answered smiling, feeling your cheeks heating up too. Cal picked up your hand, that was still over his shoulder, and laced his fingers between yours. "I was hoping you'd say that." He said moving a piece of hair off your face, tucking it behind your ear. "Your beautiful." He mumbled quietly as his eyes moved around your face. You were so happy with how tonight was turning out you didn't know what to reply. It was one of those cliché friendships you read about where one likes the other one for awhile and never even considers that they like them back until a moment like this one. So instead of saying anything you just smiled at Calum. "Do you think we should go back out there, I don't think Michael would like the fact that we're making out on his bed." Calum said with a laugh and you laughed along as the both of you stood up. Cal straightened out his top and you did the same, also fixing up a part of your hair that became messy when the two of you were lying down. Calum quickly fixed up Michaels bed cover so that it looked like no one was ever there, then the two of you walked back out to the party with your hands together, fingers intwined.
After a few hours you were both drunk. You didn't care about how easy it was for you to get drunk because you were having so much fun. You, Calum and everyone else at the party were now standing in Michaels living room counting down the last minute till the new year. Your hand was still in Calum's and the two of you were staring at each other, smiles on your faces. "10" everyone shouted at the same time. "9,8,7,6,5" while everyone was counting down the last few seconds till the new year, you and Calum were laughing for no reason. "4,3,2" Calum pulled you into a hug. "1, HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Everyone shouted, and then your very first kiss of the new year began. Calum's lips meet yours again and your lips moved with his. This one didn't last as long as the first one but it still felt amazing, and the butterfly's still erupted in your stomach. "Happy new year babe." Calum whispered in your ear. You stood on your tip toes so you could whisper I'm Calum's ear too, just loud enough so only he could hear you replied with "Happy new year Cal."
