Peter POV-

*Beep Beep Beep* "Whyyyyyy?" *Beep Beep Beep* "Leave me alone." *Beep Beep Beep* "Stark Internship!" For the first time in years I got out of bed excited, a little nervous, but excited. I have to tell Ned about this. I know Mr. Stark said to keep quiet, but he's my best friend and he knows everything about me. I get ready faster than ever and basically run to school. The faster I get there, the more time I will have with Ned to talk before classes start.

When I get there, he is waiting in our spot with his phone in his hand. I run up to him and grab his shoulders.

"Boo!" He jumps and turns.

"Hey Peter. What are you doing here so early?" We do our awesome, totally not nerdy, handshake.

"Dude! I have some awesome news! That wrong number you gave me belonged to Tony Stark." Ned's jaw dropped, just like mine did yesterday. "The best part, he asked me to be his personal intern!" Ned looked like he was about to pass-out. Looking back on it, that's probably what I looked like yesterday.

"Man! That's amazing! Like his own personal intern?" I nod and we begin to enter the school. "That is crazy! When do you go? What will you do? Have you met the Avengers?" I chuckle.

"I go everyday after school, I'll probably follow him around until I get my bearings and he actually tells me what to do, and no I haven't met the Avengers. I probably won't." The bell rings, and I get to my locker. I wave goodbye to Ned and start to walk to my 1st period class. Today is going to be a very long day. I'm just glad I haven't seen Flash yet. Maybe Parker Luck really is gone.

My day passes in a blur of redundant boredom, but here I am! This is it. I'm standing at the bottom of S.I. right in front of the doors. I'm so excited. I mean I'm a little nervous, but more excited, I think. I walk into the building, but I'm not really sure what to do next. I walked over to the front desk to ask. When I get over there, she looks up and smiled at me.

"Hi. How can I help you today?"

"I'm a new intern here, and I don't know what to do or where to go." I hold up my badge and she becomes seemingly very confused.

"Where did you get that? Is it a fake? We don't accept fake badges?" I probably should have thought this through a little better. Why would they believe a 15 year old like me got an internship at S.I.? That isn't how things work.

"I-I promise! It's no fake!" God, I hate it when I stutter. Now she defiantly thinks I'm lying, and I can't even blame her.

"Stay right there. I'm calling security!" She starts to grab the phone and dial a number. I visibly cringe. Snitch.

"Please don't. I promise I'm not lying!" Soon security guards show up and start to grab my arms. I could easily resist, but I don't want to hurt them. I'm just about in the doorway, when the elevator dings and out steps a man in a suit. The guards pause what they're doing and turn to the guy.

"M-Mr. S-Stark! What are-- What are you doing down here?" The front desk clerk can't seem to get her words out. Who's stuttering now? Not me! Mr. Stark smiles. Then looks at me and frowns.

"Well I was just coming down to see why my new intern was late coming up to my lab." We all looked over at the receptionist and she was pale as a piece of paper.

"I'm s-sorry. I-I thought it was f-fake." She looked like she was about to pass out. I almost felt bad. Key word: almost.

"It's fine, just don't let it happen again. And you-" He turns back towards me and the guards, "let him go, would you?" The nod their heads so fast I worry about the potential for whiplash, and they basically dropped me. I rubbed where they were holding my arms too tight and start walking over to Mr. Stark.

"Hey kid, how was school today?" We turn around and start walking to the elevator together.

"It was good. In science, we are learning about quantum physics. That's pretty cool. We also started a new topic in math today. It was pretty difficult, but I caught on fast and the teacher asked me to help other kids." I basically ramble the entire ride up to the labs. I look over at Mr. Stark a couple of times and he always looks fascinated by what I have to say.

When we got to the floor with the his lab, he shows me around and telling me some information I would need to keep in mind while there. He explains how I would have to go through the common room to the steps or the slightly smaller "private elevator" and that would take me down to his workshop, his labs, and his "Iron Man Room" as he so elegantly put it.

We finally start to work on a project for the new Stark-Pad prototype after the tour. This is so surreal. We are only about a half an hour in when Mr. Stark got stuck on an equation.

"Pete, come here." I walk over to his white board and study at the problem.

It takes me about 5 minutes before I have an idea. "Oh." He looks over at me. I feel so small under his gaze.

"Oh? What does 'oh' mean?" He looks fairly confused. I smile at him, taking the marker. All he is missing is a negative. So that's what I add. He mildly looks like he is going to pass out. "What just happened?" I just smile at him.

"You missed a negative." His smile is warm and inviting. I'm glad he doesn't think I'm a know-it-all. He would be correct to think that, but I try to learn away from that personality of mine.

"You are one of a kind kid." I walk back over to the desk he gave me to use while I'm here.

A few hours later, I had to go home; unfortunate, I know.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow kid." He waves and I start to leave his lab, before turning back around. My curiosity was killing me.

"Mr. Stark? I have a question." He turns back towards me.

"Sure kid. Shoot."

"Do the Avengers live here too? Do I have to worry about running into them on my way to the elevator?" He smiles gently towards me.

"Right now they're on a mission. Or maybe training at the compound. I don't know. All I know is that they aren't here, but I think they're coming back in... two weeks. Maybe less." It sounds more like a question by the end, but it's an answer none-the-less.

"Okay, thanks. I was just curious. Bye Mr. Stark. See you tomorrow." I wave and walk off. I'm very glad I don't have to worry about running into them until I get more used to being in the S.I. tower. It's already overwhelming and I don't think having a snack with Hawkeye or accidentally walking in on Captain America in the bathroom would make it any easier.
