Once Bitten Twice Shy

(Y/n's pov)

I was outside on the deck, training as usual. I heard a door open, and close, and I turned around. "Oh! Hey, Nya! What's up?" I ask.

"Oh...um nothing!" She quickly turned around to head back out, but I called her back.

"Nyaaaa? Come onnn I know you better than that, tell me what's going on." I giggle.

"I...I don't remember. I really gotta go..." Nya tried to leave again, but I stood in the way. "Nya Smith! I know there's something wrong, and I'm gonna need you tell me, or I won't let you leave!" I half laughed and said seriously.

"Okay, okay. I just....I just wanted to ask about.....about Jay....." she said with a big blush on her face.

"Oh. Ohhhh. OHHHH!" I smirk. "I knew it! Okay, wait. What about him?" I say, containing my excitement for her.

"Well, I just wanted to know....what he likes in a girl." She quickly muttered.

"Oh! That's an easy one. But the problem is....he already likes someone." I put on a fake frown.

Her eyes droop, and she stops blushing.

"Oh...I knew it. I gotta go, I should never had asked."

I put a hand on her shoulder with a humorous smile. "But to a see your question,he likes girls who are named Nya, who have an older brother named Kai, and look exactly like you. " I say while shrugging.

I walk up to her once more, and whisper.

"Oh, yeah. And you didn't hear this from me, but, that girl he likes," I whisper," that's you." I wink at her.

"Wait....are you saying.... Jay Walker....likes me?!"She asks with wide eyes. I nod, and smile. "Hasn't it been obvious?"

"N-No....I guess not." She blushed.

" Oh! And by the way, do me a solid and get together already! You two are adorable together!" I smile at her. She smiles back, and I tap her shoulder before she walks out.

" And also because Kai and I made a bet. I'm not giving up on you two. Now go get em tiger." I wink to her.

She blushes, and walks into the ship. I'm about to get ready to head inside as well, when she comes back out. "Say......you got any crushes?" She wiggles an eyebrow.

"Um no...." I give a confused look. "Oh come on! We're on a flying ship full of guys, and you're telling me you don't like any of them? Just a little bit?"

"Hmmm. Nope."

"One day Y/n....one day.."

The ninja were gathered for a lesson in the brig. Nya was giving them a lesson about a serpentine skeleton researchers had found a while ago.

"Some villagers unearthed the remains of this Fangpyre a few miles away. It predates to the Golden age, and must be hundreds of years old." She explained to the group of ninja.

She pulls out a laser pointer, and uses it in her demonstration. "Although all the venom in the fangs of the of the Fangpyre genetically mutate human cells into reptilian, I've learned there could be a way to stop the effects without using the antivenin."

Y/n's attention snaps to Kai's little sister, while Kai himself leans back with his feet on the table. Zane's attention was on his falcon, and Cole was drawing pictures of himself instead of writing notes.
