"Shit!" Alexander exclaimed upon seeing the incoming enemies. "Now what?" I ran back into the ditch and looked at the convoy of trucks rolling our way. I counted seven vehicles.

"We need to stop the first one!" I yelled into the coms, annoyed. I knew this plan was bound to fail, we should've gone with my idea and gone to a place with more cover. Now I was going to have to be the one to save this mission.

"How do you plan on doing that?" Alex yelled back. "Shank it?" I rolled my eyes at his remark while reaching into my pocket and grabbed the semtex that I had picked up back at the base. I watched as the trucks slowly got closer and closer, calculating my throw. When the time was right, I pulled the pin and threw the semtex onto the road. It blew up right under the first vehicle, causing it to go up in flames. I grinned as I watched it burn. "Well, I guess that works," Alex mumbled. The rest of the vehicles came to a stop behind the explosion. People got out of the trucks and began yelling. From what I knew in Russian, I could tell that they were looking for us to shoot us down, seeming annoyed by our presence.

They spotted Claire first, who was still making her way down from the ridge she was sniping on. The grass wasn't nearly tall enough to cover up where she was hiding. One of the Russian men pointed and began yelling while aiming his gun at her.

Valliere fired the first shot before he had the chance to hit Claire. She shot the man right in the chest. Blood sprayed everywhere as his body fell to the ground, creating a pool of blood that was now spreading across the concrete. Now all the troops were out of their trucks, guns ready. I sighed as I looked at the scene, this could've been so much easier. While everyone was shooting, I snuck my way down the ditch to the very back of the line of military vehicles. In the coms, everyone was yelling.

"We're outgunned!" Alijah yelled.

"No shit!" Claire yelled back. The sound of gunfire was loud and echoed around me, reminding me why I hated using guns. I was at the back of the convoy and snuck up behind the Russians who were focused on shooting what was in front of them. Swiftly, I pulled out my knife and took down the first guy on the right side of the truck with a quick swipe across his neck. I caught his body as he fell, so the one on the driver's side didn't hear a thing.

I went around the back of the truck, putting me behind the second guy. I quickly slit his throat as I did the first and watched as blood sprayed everywhere on the ground in front of him. I knew I had to move fast, the longer we were here, the more time the Russians from the base would have time to come down to say hello. I did a quick headcount and counted about twelve more Russians. Alex shot one, and the body crumpled to the ground. Eleven. I crept over to the next truck, which was just a simple pick up truck, and hid by the bumper. When one of the enemies came around to reload, I quickly stood up and jabbed at his neck. Ten.

"We need to fall back!" Alex yelled, overtop of the gunfire.

"We can't fall back!" Alijah yelled back, "We're trapped on the other side of the road!" I looked to see that by now, Claire had safely made it back to the ditch and was beside Alexander. Alijah and Valliere were across from them. And in the middle, about half a dozen more heavily armed Russians. Alijah fired a shot that hit one of them right in the gut. He then sent another shot into his head. I sighed again, these people were very messy fighters.

"Where the hell did Knight go?" Alex yelled into the coms, finally realizing I wasn't beside him anymore.

"Dude abandoned us!" Claire called.

"I knew it!" I didn't say anything, it had crossed my mind that I could flee when we got here, but I knew that these fools were going to get themselves killed; clearly, I was right. Now I had a point to prove. More Russians getting close to where my team was so I reached back into my pockets and threw one of the smoke grenades, covering the last few trucks in a sheet of white.
