4. You're the One I Wanna Wake Up To

Lola's POV

I nervously looked into the mirror next to my front door and fussed with my hair. When I left Paige and Brandon's I was basically running on a time clock to get back home, shower, and be dressed and ready for when Niall would be picking me up. He called me earlier today and asked me out on a date, a date which was still a surprise to me. All I knew is that it was casual and he was going to be here at any moment. Three loud knocks on my front door startled me from my thoughts, but Niall was right on time. 

"Hi love." Niall said with a smile before pulling out a bouquet of white Lillies and yellow tulips from behind his back.

"Wow these are gorgeous thank you." I took the flowers from him and invited him inside so I could put them in a vase. It was really cute that Niall remembered I told him Lillies and tulips were my favorite flowers.

"Anytime. Are you ready to get going?" Niall asked me. I finally got a good look at him, he was wearing some white shorts with a navy blue short sleeve button down and white sneakers. It was definitely a very casual look but he managed to look amazing in no matter what he wore. 

"Yes I am. Are you going to tell me where we're going?" I asked while I was locking my front door behind us. Niall opened up the passenger side door to his car and got into the drivers seat before answering me. 

"Well if I'm being honest, I haven't been on a normal or casual first date in forever. And I didn't think you would want to go out on another boring dinner date after your last one, so I thought about where I would've taken a girl on a date like 10 years ago." Niall explained. He was now driving to our destination without the gps on so I couldn't even get a sneak peak.

"So where is that?" I asked once again where we were going, I couldn't wait any longer.

"You'll find out when we get there." Niall laughed, he wasn't budging one bit. He turned the radio up and the next song to come on was Story of my Life by none other than One Direction.

"I used to love this song when I was younger." I began singing along to the song with Niall.

"So you were a fan of us, huh?" Niall asked me, I told him I wasn't huge into One Direction but I did know who they were, that was the extent of our conversation on my One Direction experience.

"I was for a while, but wasn't like a crazy stan or anything. I actually liked 5SOS a little more if I'm being honest." I giggled.

"Oh I'm hurt." Niall joked, pull his hand away from the wheel and holding his chest. "Who was your favorites?"

"Well Luke was my favorite in 5SOS, and Louis was my favorite in One Direction."

"It wasn't even me! Now I'm really hurt." Niall yelled, making us both laugh. He made one last left turn and we were in the parking lot of wherever we were going for our date. I got out of the car and looked for any sign of where we were and I noticed a building across the parking lot that said arcade on it. Niall reached out and held my hand, leading me in the direction of the building.

"Inside is apparently one of the best mini golfs in the area, and I do have to warn you I'm a pretty good golfer." Niall said as he opened the door for me.

"You're on." I laughed, one of the details I must not have shared with Niall would probably make him think twice about him being able to beat me so easily. I noticed a lot of people watching us, well Niall, as we walked in but no one bothered us. Niall and I walked up to the counter so we could pay and get our clubs.

"Ladies first." Niall said, stepping back so I could go first. I placed my ball down and prepared to take the first stroke of our game. 

I had an amazing time playing mini golf with Niall, having a good time with Niall really took no effort. I was comfortable around him, he was kind, gentle, and really interested. Not to mention he was incredibly attractive and he liked me. By the time we got to the 18th hole I was beating Niall by two strokes. I dropped the ball so I could go, my ball stopped about six inches from the hole. Niall did the same but his ball bounced off of the wall at a bad angle and was pretty far away. I easily tapped mine in and waited for him to get his, which took another two strokes.

"Looks like you beat me by two strokes." Niall said while he added up our final scores. "I have to say you are a natural at mini golf."

"Well, remember when I told you my dad's family has owned a country club for like four generations?" I asked while we were handing back our putters. My dad great great grandparents bought a golf course when they first got married that has stayed in the family, since then it has turned into a small country club. 

"Yea but what does- oh I get it now." Niall cut himself off in the middle of his sentence. 

"I played golf all the time growing up."

"It all makes sense now. I need to get you out on a real course with me sometime, I love to golf." Niall shook his head, throwing his arm around my shoulders while we walked out of the building. 

"Anytime, I know somewhere we can go." Niall opened up the passenger side door for me and shut it before going to get into the drivers side. After mini golfing Niall planned for us to go get something for dinner, so we went to this smaller restaurant that was known for it's burgers. For a Friday night it was pretty quiet so we were able to have a really enjoyable meal with no interruptions. When we finished eating Niall drove me back to my apartment, and instead of him heading back to his hotel I invited him inside for a little while.

"I am going to run to the bathroom really quick make yourself comfortable." I said to Niall before running to the bathroom. I did my business and washed my hands,  I even freshened up my lip gloss before heading back to the living room where I left Niall. 

"Yea I'm doing a small show tomorrow night if you guys are in town you should definitely come." I heard Niall say, he was on the phone with someone. "Call me tomorrow morning when you're here. Alright, bye man I'll see you tomorrow."

"Who was that?" I asked, sitting next to Niall once he finished up his phone call. 

"It was actually Louis, he's gonna be in San Francisco for the weekend so he called to see if I was still here. Which I am and I have a show tomorrow night so I invited him to come. You know what, I should give you and Paige tickets too hang on." Niall said nearly too fast for me to even understand before he picked his phone up once again to call someone else. While he was on the phone reserving two more tickets I texted Paige if she was interested in going.

"Ok I have three tickets reserved, I hope you don't mind sitting with Louis." Niall told me once he was sat down on the couch again.

"Paige is so excited, thank you for doing that for us." I smiled. Niall and I laid back on the couch and just sat in silence, enjoying each others presence. 

"I had a really great time with you tonight." Niall nearly whispered after a few moments, the room was absolutely silent other than our breathing.

"I had a great time, too." I whispered back, enjoying this moment with Niall. I had only known him for such a short time but waking up next to him this morning felt right. And by the look in Niall's eyes when he is looking at me, I think he feels the same way.
