Episode Two - Chapter One

After everything that happened with the boat and finding John B's dads compass I decided I needed a break, so shortly after Kie and Pope said their goodbyes I got off my spot on the floor turned to JJ and John B gave a quick wave before saying that I was off and heading on the path towards my house. I was about halfway home when I heard someone running behind me. I grabbed my keys out of my back pocket and slotted them through my knuckles ready to punch whoever was running towards me.

As soon as I felt them behind me I swung my fist towards them. "Oh Shit!" they yelled, grabbing my hand.

"Fuck JJ what are you doing running up on my like that in the dark!" I yelled seeing JJ behind me still holding my hand.

"What the fuck? Or those your keys?" JJ asks, looking at the keys in between my fingers.

"JJ what are you doing here" pull my hand back placing my keys in my back pocket again looking at JJ.

"I wanted somewhere to crash, dads well you know my dad and John B is, just staring at that dam compass," JJ says, continuing to walk along the path.

"Oh, so I was your only option?" I say jokingly

"only, last, best, whatever will make you say yes."

"Mom would kill me if I made you go home so you can stay."

I catch up to JJ and we walk in silence towards my house.

I grab my keys and unlock the backdoor walking in JJ close behind. I open the fridge seeing that the ice has all but melted. Yeah Not gonna risk eating the food mum put in there. I grab a bag of baskets off the bench and walk out to the back porch. JJ joins me a few seconds later with Beers in hand.

"What were you going to say on the dock before?" I asked him, taking one of the beers from his hand.

"Weird that Kie kissed John B today right?" JJ asked, trying to change the subject.

"JJ" I turned to face him crossing my legs and taking a sip of my beer.

JJ sat next to me hanging his legs off the edge of the porch deck. "We've been friends for what like 17 years."

"Yeah, something like that."

JJ turn's his head to look at me "I'm scared that what I will say next will wreck everything."

I reach my hand out and rest it on his leg. "JJ I don't want to lose our friendship. You are the most important person in my life, no matter what happens you aren't going to lose me. I promise"

JJ jumps off the porch walking away before turning around to look at me. "But you don't know that Leah, we could lose it. If I tell you and you don't feel the same or what if everyone else gets upset and. Leah i care to much about us and our friendship, to put it at risk.'' I jump up and run to JJ, throwing my arms around him in a giant hug. I look up at him seeing his messy blond hair all out of place from him running his hand through it. "JJ i lov..." I whisper

JJ lips are on mine before I can even finish. Heat filled my body. Rising from his lips on mine fulling my faces burring hotter where his hand cupped my face. Holding me tight as if at any moment i would disappear and he would be alone. His other and resting on the small of my back. My hand rested on his bicep the other laying on this arm placing my hand on his face.

Time felt as though it had stopped completely. The world no longer spinning but standing still. Then my heart sank. We, we can't do this, the rule, he's a player. I broke away from the kiss. JJ had a massive smile on his face. "You don't know how long I have wanted to kiss you like that."
