What seemed to be a small problem had turned into one that seemed like it couldn't be fixed. The younger had waited years and years to be able to call the other his but was still denied.
It greatly affected Jungkook's side of the relationship, it made him think of what he lacked and what he's done too much of. He was tired from the thoughts, the nights he would toss and turn, and even when the others would tease him about his and Jimin's future he couldn't say much because he wasn't 'his' to begin with, he didn't know when that time will come but hope was slowly slipping out of his grip. The members' intention was nothing close to harming their relationship but unknowingly they hurt Jungkook more than he shows.
During the current pandemic issue, they couldn't spend as much time as they'd like. Jimin had been working his ass off preparing for concerts that were no longer confirmed to happen and Jungkook had been preparing his mixtape. Another reason why they felt completely unconnected.
Jungkook had songs more than ready, enough to release his long awaited mixtape but he couldn't yet. He was a perfectionist, one that will listen to his songs over and over again trying to look for flaws before handing them out to their producers for more approval and checking, though no more checking was needed from the amount of times he had. But he still refused to release it, he didn't have a song that will represent his mixtape, the one he'd be releasing first, the one that will catch all the attention.
One certain day, Jungkook woke up from his afternoon nap to hear faint tapping of tiny droplets of water on his window.
Rain.
Ever since then, he grew to love the rain. It was calming and gives him the most time to think. Without much thought he went straight out of their front door into the pouring rain.
He smiled as the first droplet hit his hand and continued to walk into it getting fully drenched. He smiled again. Jungkook was a person of simple things, it didn't need something luxurious and beyond extraordinaire to amaze him. The rain being the best example of his ecstasy, and Jimin. But he only had one of those right now.
Until now, he had been way too frustrated in the tension between him and Jimin so while he was out in the rain he had danced of pure bliss and the words just came to him and next thing you know he was locked in his room, writing a song. And in only a few days he's finished a masterpiece, one dripping with emotions he never got to release throughout the years.
A letter for Jimin.
In a matter of days Jungkook had written, produced and recorded the song. First person he went to was the one person he looked up to the most, Namjoon. The feedback he would be giving the younger would be the only feedback that would matter. So if Namjoon doesn't like it, the trash it goes.
The moment the taller played the recording in his laptop, he was already speechless. Jungkook only made songs every now and then, but when he does it was absolutely beautiful. Like you can hear and feel the emotions he's put into making it, stuck in a trance that is his angelic voice. He stood up without a single word, taking his laptop with him into the living room of the dorm and connected it to their speaker. Jungkook was ready to call his work trash if Namjoon didn't fancy it so he was in utter shock when he heard his song play from the living area. He thought when the other stood up it was his way of saying no.
He proceeded to walk out of the taller's room into the living area looking at Namjoon, his eyes only held confusion.
"Wow, Namjoon did you come up with this already?"
Yoongi asked from the doorway of his room, all the rest coming out of their caverns when they heard the melody playing.
"No.. it's Jungkook's."
Namjoon states still in his daze, looking at nothing in particular. Everyone halts while Jungkook flushes in embarrassment. He was sure to complain to Namjoon about humiliating him like that later.
The members listened intently to the lyrics, the story he wanted to tell and it made their hearts bruise and break, especially Jimin's. They were all in a trance listening to the song, it definitely had an effect on its listeners, Jungkook checks that off his list.
The song started and closed with the faint sound of rain he'd recorded the day he went out to dance in it. As it comes to the final beat and stops, Jungkook's overwhelming emotions had shown itself as a tear dropped from his eye, grazing his cheek and onto the back of his hand. His walls were broken down from one single glance at a particular person, the one person he hoped to listen to his song, who the message was for. Jimin's eyes held hurt, guilt and all the emotions he felt for the younger and he knew he was doing it all wrong, he was hurting him.
A lot of things were happening at once and it was too much for their maknae.
"Jungkook, it's..."
Namjoon trails off walking toward him at the other end of the room placing his hand on the younger's cheek, slightly wiping the trail away only for more to form.
"It's the best thing i've heard, Jungkook-ah. Its absolutely amazing. This is it, Kook, this is the one."
And with those words the taller had given him a hug that felt like a big warm teddy bear has trapped him in its embrace. Soon enough everyone was huddling together hugging their youngest, Jimin being the first person to hug his waist from the back besides Namjoon and whispered a small 'I'm sorry' that only Jungkook could hear, a faint whimper audible from his own lips.
