Hi everyone. I was looking at my stats, and I can't believe how many people are still reading Stallion Mage. It's awesome that I continue to entertain people even after 2 years with it.
April 17 EDIT.
I started a story called Dream With Me. It's M/M, but non magical, and a slow burn friends-to-lovers romance about rock stars on tour.
A popular band's songwriter must face his romantic love for his singer and best friend, or risk the band falling apart on their first tour.

Here's the thing.
Dream With Me has been a difficult story for me because it's not weird porn. I thrive on strangeness and adventure. While I like the idea for Dream With Me, and I'd definitely like to read it, I don't think I'm that great at 'slice of life.'
So I guess what I want to know is how much people like this story, because that's a huge factor. If it's just 'meh' then I'm going to move on, or at least put it away for a bit longer.
Tell me true: would you rather read a real-life (tho dramatic) slice of life friends-to-lovers boyxboy, or...
An isekai progression fantasy about a man who becomes a sex mage and has to, uh, 'slay' his way through adversaries to escape a chaotic magical world.
LMK.
What WAS I doing for 2 years? Why didn't I post much?
Well, I think Stallion Mage was a huge case of beginners luck. I just jumped from short web porn right into a full-length fantasy novel. No one knew who I was, except the handful of friends I wanted to entertain, and who asked me to write the story. Then, I started to worry. What if my next book isn't as good? What if the magic wears off?
I lost the thing that I started writing for, which was to just entertain people with weird romance and erotica. But I also wanted to be better at it than I was. So I started to study, in my nerdy way, and over the last 18 months have partially written and thrown out many stories. The ideas are good, but my writing ability was not up to the task. (Don't worry, those stories aren't discarded, just the terrible drafts.)
Finally, I took a writing class that helped me with my greatest weakness, which is pace and organization. I don't mind if my writing style is plain - it makes things easier to read for people who may not have English as their native language. Above all, I want to just tell a good story, and I can move forward. I am working from an outline, people. I am doing planning. And I really hope it pays off with this next story.
- Ace (a real nickname from middle school because I was obsessed with magic, card tricks, and casinos, and it stuck)
PS - Want to read something absolutely amazing? Check out the Tarot series by K.D. Edwards, which is a magical AU about the race of Atlantis and how they've settled in - or not - with the rest of humanity. Several characters are non-straight, including the main character and his boyfriend.
