The bell rang and Danni hurried to her locker and off campus.
Her mom was still at work and Michael was probably still sleeping or playing videos games leading to not answering the phone.
So Danni decided to walked home.
She pulled out her phone and plugged in her headphones.
In seconds Green Day was playing in her ears.
No doubt in the world she was Michael's sister.
They listen to the same music, liked the same food, wore the same clothes companies, and other things like that.
She turned the corner and it soon started to sprinkle.
Danni fastened her pace.
Her house was in her sight and see saw Michael standing outside waiting for her.
She looked down because she was under his pressured stare.
"How was school?" He asked as she walked up the driveway.
"Good why?" She asked opening the door for both of them.
"No reason." He said and flopped down onto the couch. "How was James?"
"Um uh good I guess we haven't talked in a few days."
"And Landon?"
"Good. I ran into him today."
"What'd you say?"
"Sorry." Danni said.
"Oh you actually ran into him then?" Michael said turning his head to see Danni.
"Yeah."
"What did he say?"
Danni started up the stairs and turned to face her older red haired brother.
"Why do you even care, Michael?" She stared down again. "You were gone, for what? 5 months? You left me during the worst time. Mom was never home and I turn my back to you packing up your bags. I don't hear a single word from you, yet I hear from Luke, Ash and Calum. They're not even as close as we are and they wrote me. I lost so much when you were gone. I finished 10th grade and it seemed like no one even knew who I was when the first day rolled around."
She took a deep breath and wiped a few tears.
Michael got up and walked over to his little sister.
"Little kitten," he bent down to her level and looked into her matching eyes that always made him feel that he was looking into his own. "I'm so sorry about everything and-"
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Do you care so much about James and Landon?"
He looked away.
"Danni I don't want anything to happen to you. You're so young-"
"Michael I'm 17 I can handle my self, I did for 5 months."
"I know you can its just-" he started again.
"Michael please just answer my question."
"I'll tell you but I don't want you to say anything."
Danni nodded.
"Okay. I've know James for about 2 to 3 years now and he's a really nice kid but sometimes acts before he thinks. Remember when I came home and you told me how he had a girlfriend yet didn't everything for you, acting like a boyfriend?"
Danni nodded once again.
"He skips around girls like he'll be dating one girl but yet start to be a boyfriend to the next and I don't want you to be pulled into that and thrown out like garbage."
"And Landon?" She asked pulling her brother down to sit next to her on the stair case.
"I've know Landon for 4 years. And well he's a douche 100%. I mean he could've changed I haven't talked to him in a while. But he hurt my best friend. They were going out and he was going to kiss her but she wouldn't let him."
"Oh sorry." Danni said.
It was silent for a while.
"Do you know what happened to James by any chance?"
"Oh um no." Michael stuttered.
"Where'd you go last night?"
"Luke's I told you."
"Really? Cuz mom told me that you went to Ashton's."
"I went to Luke's then we uh went to Ashton's, yeah we went to Ashton's."
"Michael fricken Gordon Clifford what the heck did you do last night?" She almost yelled standing up towing over him.
"I went to James's."
Danni just stared at her brother and ran up stairs running into her room slamming the door.
She felt clueless.
She should've known after talking bad about James that Michael went to pay James a little visit.
She locked her door and went over to her window.
She crawled out and laid down on the wet roof.
"I'm so done." She whispered.
