Danni walked up the stairs and inside of the school the next morning.

She put her stuff into her locker and walked down the crowded hallway getting pushed between seniors.

She finally made it to English and sat down in her perfect spot in the back.

"Good morning, Miss Clifford."

She looked up to see Ms.Ritter writing the homework on the board.

"Morning." Danni said half smiling.

"How was your weekend?" She asked sitting back down at her desk.

"Horrible."

"Oh well I'm sorry to hear that." Danni looked up to see Ms.Ritter frowning.

"It's fine. Don't worry about it." She said trying to make Ms.Ritter stop feeling bad for her.

She hated when other people felt bad for her because her brother was gone or how her mom was always working.

The bell rang for lunch to be over but came before Danni was even ready for it.

She walked in a minute till the bell and looked down as she went to her seat next to James.

She set her binder to the side and looked straight at Mrs.Johnson not wanting any contact with him.

During class she never even sunk a glance at him and he didn't ether so why should've she tried.

Later on after school around 8 she sat on the couch watching tv and eating popcorn in a Blink 182 shirt and sweats.

She heard ruining down the stairs and turned to see Michael with a jacket and keys in his hand.

"Where you going?" She asked him.

"I'm uh, going to go uh see Luke." He said not making eye contact with her.

"Michael?" She asked sternly.

"Yeah?" He whispered feeling under pressure.

"Say hi for me." She smiled at her brother.

Michael sighed and nodded leaving her alone.
