It was indeed a busy day. After the announcement of their upcoming final examinations, students already started scanning their notes. Some students were exerting some efforts to study while some didn't care and just played around.
As expected, the "perfect girl" of their school - Son Seungwan, could only be seen on her desk all day long. She was just casually reading her favorite book while sipping on her drink. She didn't mind the heavy atmosphere inside their room and even the noises outside. She had her ears plugged with her earbuds, playing a low volume chill lofi beats in it.
Being one of the smartest kids in their school, it wasn't new for the students to see a relaxed Seungwan with no sign of panic on her face. They knew that she could still top the exams without breaking a leg.
Aside from her intelligence and excellence in terms of academics, she was also known for being an active student. She was often sent to represent their school in to different competitions and also she was a member of the student council. She was also admired by her looks. Her skin was pale and smooth and her hair was dark and long. She had a pair of sparkling eyes and her lips were thin and pinkish. She was sometimes mistaken as a teen idol or celebrity.
Because of those things about her, she got a lot of suitors and admirers. Unfortunately (for those boys), Seungwan didn't like to entertain them. She would only ignore them and their presents for her. No one could grab her attention... or that's just what everyone thought.
Beside her was her best friend, Seulgi. Unlike her, Seulgi didn't care that much about studying but she could still have passing scores. She would always fall asleep on her desk and their classmates were going to wonder why she always looked tired and just dozed off all day. If not sleeping, she could be spotted munching her favorite chips. Despite of their differences, they managed to become the best buddies.
Seungwan was about to proceed to the next page when muffled voices were suddenly heard from the speakers of their classroom.
"Is it working?"
"No- oh yes... yes! I think it is working now."
"Wait- did you just pressed all the buttons? This is going to be broadcasted all over the school!"
"Shoot! I'm sorry Kyu-"
"Shh! Anyway, I'll still do this. It's now or never."
The students laughed. They thought some mischievous students were fooling around inside the broadcasting room. Seungwan instantly stopped from digesting her readings and listened to the voices without looking up from her book.
"Hi. I don't have much time so you don't have to know who I am. Anyway, I would like to get the attention of Son Seungwan from Class IV-A," he paused, taking a deep breath before continuing. "I've been hiding this for too long. Well, thanks to this man beside me and I realized that I should say this before we separate ways. I am afraid to say this personally and I don't really know what gave me a lot of courage to do such shameful thing but yeah."
Seungwan could feel the eyes of her classmates but she decided not to mind them and just pretended to not hear anything. Even the sleeping Seulgi rose up from her desk and immediately looked at her. Little did she know, some were grinning from ear to ear while some felt sympathetic for the guy confessing at the moment.
"I... I like you, Seungwan. I've never told you about my feelings before. I am only admiring you from afar. I'm not a creep though, I just like you genuinely without any harmful intention." Seungwan could hear murmurs around her. She only showed them her usual poker face.
That was cheesy, she thought.
"Anyway, I don't know if she's hearing this but I would like to express more of my feelings through singing. This may not be as grand as her other suitors and admirers efforts but I hope she can spare a smile after listening to this because she has the prettiest and most admiring smile for me." The guy bravely spoke. A faint cheer from the background was also heard.
