It felt like I was famous. Leo was acting like my bodyguard, just watching my every move.
We had 5 minutes left of detention and the nerves were slowly creeping up on me.
I had practically watched the hour hand on the clock slowly turn from the 3 to the 4 and blew out a sigh when we were dismissed.
My bodyguard followed a step behind me as we made our way to the car park.
Noticing Leo's car, I headed in that direction and just as I went to put my hand on the car handle, the lock clicked so I could open it.
I slid in quickly, not wanting anyone to see me getting into his car. I knew that if any of Ivy's friend saw then it wouldn't be pretty for me tomorrow.
She may have said that she didn't care about what I did anymore, but this morning proved that I wasn't off her radar yet.
Leo joined not soon after, relaxing into the seat and running a hand through his hair.
"So, where do you wanna go?" Leo questioned, switching the car on and pulling out of the parking space.
I deliberated for a moment and then an idea struck me "Can we go to your other, other dance studio?"
Leo nodded and began driving towards the outskirts of town. No music played but the silence was comforting.
Every so often when we hit a traffic light, Leo would look over to me, maybe even place his hand on my thigh and rub gently with his thumb.
It was in those little moments that I melted inside and couldn't help but let a smile play onto my face.
Part of me wanted to feel like I did before, but I couldn't help but think about the whole situation with Ivy. From what my brother said to me and the whole locker fiasco this morning, I needed clarity on it before I fell any deeper.
We were 20 minutes into the drive when Leo finally broke the silence.
"You're thinking hard." He commented, not taking his eyes off the road. He was right, I couldn't stop thinking about everything and anything. It was driving me crazy.
I was debating on whether I should ask him about what was going on with Ivy. It would make things a lot better in my head, but did I really want to know the answer?
Shit. Here goes nothing...
"This morning, I saw you by my locker with Ivy... And my brother said someone saw you with her... Should I be worried?" My nervousness got the better of me, my voice coming out small and quiet.
I finally decided to look and Leo and he looked confused as hell.
"What? Ivy is my lab partner for our new science project, I just put up with her when we study. Yea she tried to come on to me this morning but I turned her away. She's a really needy girl and a bit too crazy for me anyway." Leo explained and I couldn't help but let out a deep breath.
Jesus I was getting so worked up about it all.
I mean my brother was probably trying to put it in a way that made me not want to talk to Leo and start to not like him. And Ivy was just a mastermind who wanted to ruin me.
Things were starting to come out a lot clearer.
"Why's that? Did someone say something?" Leo asked and I sighed again.
"Ivy... was kind of threatening me. She liked you and was trying to use me and my brother to get you guys together, but when she noticed we were getting closer, she started to get nasty about it. She planned everything this morning so you would be by my locker at the right time." I explained and Leo's eyebrows furrowed.
