Ch 3: Loosening up

Chapter 3

Ahsoka had her head down against the table listening to music. She was zoned out. Thinking about random thoughts that flowed through her mind.

Her music stopped and she zoned back in. Out of all the things she has prepared for in her life, a dead phone seemed to always come back to bute her. She never remembers to charge her phone. She was left with the sounds of nature. Although she felt s few trees could barely count as nature. She heard noise to the side of her. The dude seemed to have opened the beer bottles be bought. He was strange to Ahsoka. She hadn't witnessed anyone like him. He looked like a nice person but he did all these things that made him seem bad in her eyes. Maybe not to others but the way Ahsoka was raised, he certainly was a giant red flag. Although she couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. His tan skin and blonde hair. He was rather tall. Not to tall but not short. He looked strong but he wasn't overly built. Ahsoka wasn't attracted to bad boys so something else about him attracted her. The dude looked at her and said "Might as well join me if your going to stare". Ahsoka quickly came back to reality, she was dead focus staring at him. She hesitated but got up slowly and sat next to him. Hs was blocking the stairs but he didnt seem to care, at the time she didn't either.

"Want a drink?" He asked. Ahsoka quickly declined. "I don't drink" she said. The dude smiled and said "My name is Rex by the way". Ahsoka smiled and said "I'm Ahsoka". Rex smiled and took a sip of the beer. "Arnt you afraid to drink in the open?" Ahsoka asked. Rex looked at her and said "Not as much, I've been doing this since my freshman year".

Ahsoka knew Rex was new to school. But she didn't bother asking why. Rex looked at her up and down and said "You dont look like most Togrutas, whats up with that?" Ahsoka smiled and said "I carry alot of recessive genes". Ahsoka kept looking at Rex. Something about him made Ahsoka feel like she just woke up and sees the world for what it is, and its endless possibilities.

Rex looked back at Ahsoka and grabbed her hand. She hesitated but Rex said "Don't worry I won't hurt you". He put a bottle in her hand and said "Here, take a sip, it'll help you losen up". Ahsoka looked at it and back at Rex. She slowly brought it up to her mouth and sipped it. It tasted terrible at first but then she got use to it. She handed the bottle back to Rex who put it in his backpack.

He looked at Ahsoka and handed her a candy bar. "Here, you can have one" he said. Ahsoka looked at it and denied. "You stole those" she said soothingly. Rex smiled and said "Yay I did, but I'd like for you to have one". Something about him charmed Ahsoka. It was her first day and she already had a crush. It wasn't the typical Ahsoka behavior. Not to mention the fact she just tried achohal for the first time. If her parents found out she would be killed then be grounded.

Ahsoka took the candy bar from Rex and started eating it. "Wanna go for a walk?" he asked. Ahsoka smiled and nodded.

They walked around campus multiple times. Talking about endless topics.

Rex reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a vape pen. Ahsoka seemed shocked. She had no intentions of getting high, nor would it go well with her parents, she was told to stay away from that stuff. Rex let out a soft laugh and said "This got me through history". Ahsoka laughed. It was nice knowing he hated history too.

Rex pulled the vape pen to his mouth and took a hit. He looked up and released the smoke. Ahsoka smelled strawberries coming from the smoke.
She felt like she was breaking so many rules.

Rex and Ahsoka were near a wall. They were faced away from any class rooms near the end of the campus. Rex handed her the vape. "If you want to, you can get high with me" he said. Ahsoka looked at him and back down at the vape. "Im sorry Rex, but I don't want to" she said. Rex smiled and said "It's ok". Something about how soothingly he was talking made Ahsoka feel safe. Rex was going to turn around when Ahsoka put her arms around him and pulled him to her. She was against the wall with Rex looking at her. His left arm was above her montrals and his right wrapped around Ahsoka. They looked at eachother with their mouths inches away from eachother. Ahsoka slowly closed the gap connecting her lips with his.

Ahsoka experienced kissing before but this one felt different. Rex was kissing back in a way she didn't know was possible. She felt safe, loved and appreciated. She only knew Rex for a day and she was already kissing him. It felt so wrong yet so right. She could taste strawberry flavor in his mouth.

The kiss seemed to last forever but eventually they broke apart for air. They were still inches away from eachothers face. "I'm sorry for that" Ahsoka said. Rex gave a gentle smiled and said "Nothing to be sorry about". They stayed close to eachother listening to eachothers breathe. They felt like they were in a universe of their own. Rex opened his mouth and said "If you'd like to go on a date, I'll pay for everything". Ahsoka smiled and cupped his cheeks. "We'll split everything half" she said. Rex smiled and pulled Ahsoka into another kiss.

Ahsoka felt like she found boyfriend material. And even though he was rough around the edges, she would be able to change him.
