Chapter 9

It's been almost a week since I last saw Shoto, he has been busy training with his dad, and although we text sometimes, I worry about him, even when he says that everything is fine. School has been closed because of the USJ incident but today we can finally go back to school, I'm calmingly walking with my brother towards UA, he knows all about Endeavor not letting Shoto and I train anymore so we have been training together once more.

I want to do my best in the sports festival and show everyone that I'm strong, but more than that, I want to show myself that I can protect Shoto, I don't want him to always be the one to protect me, I want to protect him too.

We get to UA and I run in front of my brother and open our classroom door, but there is barely anyone here yet, only Iida, Kaminari and Jiro.

I sigh "What were you thinking red riding hood? We literally came 30 minutes earlier because you couldn't shut up about seeing Icy Hot" my brother says as he ignores everyone else and sits on his desk.

I try to put my cheerful face back on and say hi to my friends, Shoto will be here soon so I'll wait "Goooood morning!!"

"Hi Y/n!" Jiro gives me a quick hug and I smile at the 2 boys.

"You're very responsible to be here so soon" Iida tells me.

I laugh and his seriousness and Kaminari touches my hair "You look so beautiful with your hair braided" he blushes and smiles, I don't know what to say.

"Oh! Thank you!" I smile and blush a little, I'm not used to receiving compliments.

"Hey N/n, we should go on a date! What do you say?!" he asks confidently.

I'm completely caught off guard by his question and I struggle to find the words "Oh-- hmm--" I've never been on a date, I wonder if it is like in the movies? "A date?"

"Yea it would be fun, you know, just the two of us, hand in hand, on a beach watching the sunset!" Kaminari gets so excited talking about this that it makes me very hard to say no.

If I ever go on a date, I would want for it to be with Shoto "Maybe another time? We are all very busy with the sports festival coming, right?" I didn't have the heart to say no to him, but hopefully he'll get the hint. Don't get me wrong, Kaminari is seriously great, but he is not Shoto.

"You're right Y/n! Damn, you're not only beautiful but also pretty smart!" he keeps complimenting me and I blush again.

He is really funny indeed, I look away from him and started heading towards my desk, when I see Shoto already in his seat "Hi Shoto, I didn't see you come in!" I'm so excited that I can see him again!

"That's maybe because you were busy flirting" he doesn't even look at me as he says that, he just keeps putting his materials on his desk.

His words took me by surprise for a moment, but I soon realise what is going on, I walk closer to him and whisper in his ear "Were you jealous?"

He coughs suddenly "Absolutely not. Why would I?" he asks as he tries to looks like his normal emotionless self.

"Exactly, why would you? I said I would wait for you" I wink at him and go to sit at my place, by the corner of my eye, I can see him smiling softly, but just then it hits me, I was having so much fun at this new emotion he was feeling, that I failed to notice a small wound on his forehead. It's almost completely hidden by his hair, but there is definitely something there. I stand up from my seat and lean on his desk in front of him, he looks away from his phone that he was looking at and up at me, my hands go directly to his hair, he flinches as I remove his hair from his forehead "How did this happen?" I ask him in a worried tone.
