Meliodas P.O.V.
Elizabeth has been in my castle for a 3 months now, and winter has begun to bloom into spring.
And, as much as I hate to admit it, these have been the best months of my existence, hands down. Just seeing her smile warms up my heart and soul, and I feel like I can just be...me. No title, no terrible instincts, no cruelty or facades. Just...me.
An odd change after being someone else for the past century, and who knew I was such a softie! My activities and interests around her have shown me that. I mean seriously, a FLOWER viewing!?!
I'm currently taking her through the woods by the hand, sensing her anxiety from the last visit.
Lately, I've been wanting to show her the field of snow lilies which had begun to turn to fire lilies, the crimson and golden waves of the petals visible even when I was flying earlier. I kept it a secret from her, only saying that she would see something beautiful and very rare, something few had seen before. When her eyes started sparkling with hope and excitement, the cobalt blue and silver flecks swirling and shimmering, I knew I had to take her.
"Are we almost there?!", came her soft, excitedly angelic voice, the song of spring that sped up my heartbeats exponentially. I look back at her bright blue eyes and platinum silver hair and give her one of my rare smiles, the smiles that have been increasingly more common in her presence.
"You'll see!," I laugh back at her and her now rose painted cheeks. So cute...
I stop 15 meters from the field and turn around in the silver barked forest, a crooked smile on my face. "Now, close your eyes, or else were going back, got it?"
She pouted a bit, her cheeks rose and her strawberry pink lips puckering in childish impatience. She sighs and closes her beautiful eyes, mumbling, "Lord Meliodas is so mean..."
"Ah-ah-ah, what did I say about that?", I say with mock strictness, but secretly laughing at her cuteness and her predetermined reaction. The reaction I got the pleasure of seeing now.
Her cheeks turned an even brighter pink, more of a red, and she stuttered while trying to hide her face, "S-sorry, M-M-M-Melio-odas..."
I was grateful her eyes were closed, cause I started blushing too, my face hot and similar to hers, but I was able to hide my heartbeat and flustered state.
I turned around and walked her to the field, saying playfully in a sing-song voice, "As long as you remember~!!" I didn't need to look to see her face was a tomato by now, and it sounded like steam was coming out of her ears.
I kept smiling, waiting with mounting anxiety that she'd love the sight I was to grant her, hoping that she'd love the fires. I'd have to show her them in the Autumn, that's when their the most beautiful, a bright, cobalt blue with silver and purple. The colors of her eyes, the most beautiful things in the world... but in the meantime, I'd have to show her the spring version.
I walked into the middle of the field, turning around to see her basically bursting with curiosity. 'Cute...wait, no time for that!', I thought blushing furiously. I held her hand and said in a tone so gentle it was shocking that I could even use it, "Okay, you can look now."
Her dewy eyes opened to reveal dewy blue that glimmered and swan with curiosity. Then they widened and stars of wonderment fell into the pools of her eyes, her attention rapt on her surroundings.
