I'm lost...
I-I need to get out.
I need to wake up!
WHAT IS HAPPENING?!

My eyes shot open, pupils dilated as I gasp for air. Jolting up into a sitting position, I took in my surroundings; I was in a room, alone. Cabinets filled with countless medical supplies and surgical tools scattered throughout the enclosure. My eyes darted back and forth at the various objects before Landing on my meek body.
The hushed sounds of breathing came from underneath a clear plastic mask attached to my lower face. Soft echoing beeps match my rapid heartbeat as it throbbed in the back of my skull; like a hammer was bashing into a steal metal enclosure, shaking as is made contact. Wires strapped themselves to my chest and stomach as a needle, attached to a tube, poked through the skin of my arm.

My ears perked in the direction of the white sealed door as soft muffles between people came from the other side. Fear and panic started to raced through my veins as my breathing became faster. ~ I must be back at the lab, I have to be. This is what it's like when I go unconscious, I get strapped up and forced injections into my blood. I quickly look around my figure once more. ~But I'm not tied up? My thoughts swarm my head as I see an opportunity to escape; ripping off the mask, wires and needle with a spirt of blood, I swung my legs over the side and rushed to my feet.

As I take my first shaky step, harsh pain shoots itself throughout every inch of my body; my lungs cave as I try to heath a breath without that flimsy plastic, feeling the sharp agonizing torture my ribs gave me. I clenched the side of my bony chest as my legs became weaker; like they were two thin twigs, wobbly and ready to snap at that moment, I was going to collapse. Quickly, I raced my hand to the metal table beside me for support but abruptly missed. Falling forward, my hand smacks the objects off the table as I make contact with the stone floor along side loud clanks of steal tools.

My mind was screaming agonizing cures at my weak body's torment. I could feel every aching joint, muscle and bone as I impacted the floor; my breathing became rapid and short as I tried to rush oxygen into my lungs. My figure was lacking the strength to stand, but I had no choice, I needed to escape this prison.

Suddenly, a loud shatter pounded at the door behind me. ~Shit. My shaky arms pressed against the cold floor as I gritted my canine teeth in pain; conjuring up the remaining stability I had, I pushed my fatigued body back to its feet with beep breaths. The all too familiar copper taste hit my tongue once more as I spat out a mixture of blood and saliva. Watching as it splatters against the surgical tools and floor, my eyes trace back to my bandaged ribs to see the crimson colour seeping through.

Just then a loud door slammed open, catching me off guard and engulfed in fear. Their here... Quickly, I turn my head, ready to see the all too familiar lab coats, but my eyes met with the angelic woman looking even more frightened than I am. My thoughts panicked even more as I saw the lady rush inside. ~it's her. Why is she here? Or better yet, where am I? Could she have been working with those horrid people from the lab all this time? That disgusting bitch! I was confused, anxious, weak; My mind told me to run, fight, anything, before she strikes first.

Slowly and weakly, I faced in her direction as I bared my teeth with a growl, hoping to hide my pathetic fear driven mind. I wait patiently as I watch her examine the room then me. Her eyes widened as she locked onto my body; the stench of panic seeping out of her like a bad odour. This put me on edge even more as I was confused by her reaction; Was she planning something? Afraid I might hurt her? Afraid of the monster in front of her?
No...
She's afraid for me?...

As the blonde lady took a slow step towards me, my mind shot into fight or flight. I quickly picked up the nearest object and threw it in her direction as I raced to the far corner of the room, ignoring the excruciating pain. Ducking, she avoided the object by a mere inch as she reached her hand out towards me.

"Wait!" She yelled as she stood up straight. "I'm only trying to help. You have no need to be afraid of me." Her words calm and soothing; like a mother's touch.
~Afraid? There is no way she can tell I'm afraid. Gripping my ribs as I breathe rabidly, I glare in her direction. I quickly scan the room without the woman knowing, as I noticed the still open door... my escape out. My thoughts viewed the possible out comes if I were to run for my freedom as I watched her take a slow step closer.

"Listen, you need to rest. You're in bad health and your wound is bleeding again. Please let me help you." Her words soft and heartwarming as it took me by surprise.

It was calming and genuine, making me lower my guard; as if she truly meant it. My body relaxed as I watched her draw closer, almost like I was in a hypnotic trance by those few words. The angelic lady gently reached her hand out placing it on my right shoulder with a smile. Just as her skin made contact with mine, the peaceful state I was in, vanished.

~Lies! My eyes narrowed and teeth gridded as I exhaled a low growl. I quickly swatted my hand in her direction as my sharp nails impacted her soft skin; She immediately let go of my shoulder as she wimped in pain, clutching her cheek. The smell of her blood mixed with mine stained my nose; the crimson danced along my fingers as focused my attention on the door.

Quickly, I sprinted towards the exit, leaving the woman holding her face as blood dripped down. Just as I was about to exit, my body collided with the familiar warmth of someone else blocking the door.

"Oi! What's all the racket about?"

That voice...
I slowly moved my head upwards to view the person my figure was stuck to. The scent of dirt and singed hair intoxicated the atmosphere and washed away the stench of blood. His body was tall and masculine as dirt and oil smeared over his exposed torso. His strong facial features slowly looked down at me as he grinned wide.

"So I see the drugs didn' last long like the doc said, ain't that right, Sheila?"
His fire eyes locked onto my winded blue ones as his expression turned softer; as if he was looking deep into my soul.
