So, I'm freaking out in my room because it's 6:00 and the party starts in an hour and I still don't know what the wear. I didn't think I'd ever be invited to one of these things so I was a bit unprepared.
I was hoping my mom would say no to letting me go so I could stay home and watch Netflix all night, but she encouraged it.
Thanks, mom.
There was a huge pile of clothes on the ground of outfits I was going to wear but quickly rejected. Why was it so hard to find something? I'm not trying to impress anyone.. At least I don't think I am.
My mom walked inside my room and saw me panicking, "What's with this mess?" She questioned. "I can't find anything to wear. Ugh, I don't even wanna go to this stupid party anyway!" I yelled before plopping onto my bed.
My mom left and then came back with a dress in her hand, it was beautiful. It wasn't something I would usually wear but I was willing. She held it up to me and spoke, "This is a dress I bought a while back for you, I'm pretty sure you can still fit it. Go try it on." She then handed me the dress and gently pushed me into the closet to change.
I came out the closet to show my mom and her expression changed to a huge smile. "Oh, my baby girl looks so beautiful!" She said admiring the dress. "Mom.." I groaned. "Okay, I'm sorry. Go finish changing. Your date will be here soon." She said smiling.
"Date? Whoa whoa whoa. Nathan is not my date. He invited me that's all. Besides he has a girlfriend." I almost forgot he had a girlfriend.
I wonder what she looks like. Well whoever she is she must be a lucky girl to have a guy like Nathan
Why did I say that?
I was finishing my final preparations. I decided to curl my hair and put on a bit of mascara, eye shadow, and lip stick. Once I saw myself in the mirror, I didn't even recognize myself. And although I liked how this looked, it wasn't me.
At Least it's only one night.
I heard my doorbell ring and heard my mom open the door. I finished fluffing my hair and went to the door where he was standing.
Nathan was wearing a Navy blue V- Neck shirt with a jacket over it and dark jeans.
I hate to admit it, but he looked strongly attractive.
He stared at me and smiled, "ready to go?" He said pulling out his car keys. "I guess" I said with a sigh. I hugged my mom goodbye and told her what time I would be back.
While Nathan and I were walking to his car, he looked at me claimed I looked nice. I couldn't help but blush at this. I don't think I've ever gotten a compliment from a guy my age before.
He opened the car door for me which made me blush even more. I wouldn't be surprised if I was red as a tomato now.
The car ride was silent because I was busy thinking about how this whole party thing will go down. When we arrived I almost changed my mind when I saw two people making out on the doorstep
Nathan looked at them in disgust and then opened the door.
When he opened the door loud music blasted, red solo cups were all over the floor, and teenagers were dancing and making out all over the place.
This was going to be a long night.
Nathan greeted Kyle. Kyle then looked at me and smiled, "Wow, Ramona Noodles you clean up nicely."
I hated when people called me that.
"Thanks.."
I looked over at Nathan and next thing I know he's surrounded by girls, what a surprise.
I decided to go get something to drink since I was really thirsty. I took a shot of alcohol and cringed at the strong taste.
I didn't know where Nathan was so I sat on the couch next to a couple making out. If this is what teenagers do at I party I don't want to come to another one.
I drank another round of alcohol and the room starting getting blurry. I then heard my favorite song and immediately wanted to dance.
This is how we do, yeah, chilling, laid back straight stuntin' yeah we do it like that..
"This is my song!" I blurted out loudly. "Mine too." Said Kyle from behind. "Let's dance." He said and pulled my hand to the dance floor.
I started dancing and he got behind me holding my waist as I danced to the rhythm.
I didn't like what he was doing but I was really feeling this beat.
Everything was alright, until I saw a blurred figure yelling at Kyle. "Dude, what the hell do you think you're doing?!"
I squinted and spoke, "Nathan?" He looked down at me with anger and rage. Why was he so mad?
"Chill out, we're just having fun. It's a party." Exclaimed Kyle. "We're leaving." Said Nathan while grabbing my arm.
I shook his hand away from my arm and screamed at him, "What the hell is your problem?!"
He took my arm again and dragged me out of the house and into his car, he then buckled in my seat belt and stared dead at the road.
When we parked at my house, he took out his keys and yelled , "What the fuck were you doing back there?"
"I was having fun like you told me to do, what the fuck were YOU doing back there? Dragging me out of the damn party like a rag doll!"
He calmed down a little and explained, "I was just trying to protect you."
"Protect me? Protect me from what? I'm not your girlfriend Nathan, so don't worry about me, worry about yourself!" I got out the car and slammed the door storming inside my house.
My mom came over and asked me why I was back so early. I was too upset to respond so I just went to my room and played my guitar.
This night turned into a total disaster like I knew it would. But the thought of what Nathan said burned inside my mind.
Protect me? What did that mean?
I eventually fell asleep, but the statement still made me wonder.
