Strawberry Icecream

Mom was shouting at the edge of her voice ,
"Don't forget to pack your bags dhaya", I heard her lock the door knob and checked the time it was 10.30. Getting back to college- I was tired to even think that. "How nice it is to sleep all day yaar!!"
I thought. I had no way other than packing my bags, Today is the last day, I better pack it fast and go enjoy.  I stuffed my things into my backpack- headphones, earphone,books,lipstick and done. One bad thing about myself is that I always leave something behind no matter how hard I think- I forget it and that is the reason mom always wanted me to pack a day before.
I called Rene, "I want you I want you want you" shouted the song Obsession.

Oh lemme first introduce. This girl is someone who holds the key to my life, we did schooling together from grade 6, and had been together in thick and thin. We were like mirror images from picking up a snack to buying a book. 'Sailing in the same boat' was our favourite anecdote and one thing that we never forgot to maintain. We dont often talk but when we do we talk to our hearts full. I knew that I will always have her like the way Tuppence always had Tommy.

"Hellllooooo idiot, Speak" she yelled.
"Morning Rene, How about meeting in the court?" I asked knowing it is a yes.
"You walk first ill be there in 10 minutes" she told and hung up.

I was sitting in the stone bench, with my songs jamming through my earphones, there she was with our favourite Toblerone. Spending time with her was different, not like usually girls who are into gossips we spoke about different things like books, magic, crime, our favourite k-pop stans,etc. She had a fire of doing Medicine and I could collar up and tell I have my Personal doctor growing up.
I took the chocolate and started eating,
"So, how is college going- Interesting?"she asked.
"Please dont come up with college rene, PLEASE!" I pleaded.
She laughed, laughed and laughed. I was even ready to thwack her.
"That guy you told me about , Is he still pestering you?"
I thought of the amount of headaches I got because of him. "We are in the same course, same class, and same neighbourhood-you think he will stop?" I completed the sentence and this pity girls eyes widened.
"What neighbourhood?" she asked literally confused.
"He told me he lives two streets away from my home"
"Ridiculous" she chuckled.

And there was a great sound of something crash into the floor, we turned to see a small girl who fell down from her cycle. She was finding it difficult to lift the cycle. We ran to her and lifted her, Rene checked her injury and suggested that she would buy stuff from the pharmacy to clean it. I decided to take her to the bench and wait there.
I had a piece of chocolate with me and asked her to eat it, to distract her. She smiled at me and accepted. I removed my earphone and let it sing aloud.
I turned to her and asked her "Im Aadhya, How should i call you?"
She finished the chocolate gave the wrapper to me, folded her hands and said "Tanvi"
By the time Rene came with the kit and started aiding her.
Tanvi was only about 5 years, she spoke non stop, and that was the best thing about her. Her smile was so pure. She told us stories about her doll, She told us that her friends were all so bad, and so she decided to cycle alone. She also complained that the shop near her house does not sell strawberry icecreams. We laughed looking at each other.
We decided to take her home, and walked off the court, She walked midst both of us catching our hands dancing even though she was badly hurt, leading us the path.

When we stood before her home, she stopped.
"Once I met a girl when I was playing, she was sitting with a chocolate and I asked her if she would share it with me, she did not respond but she moved away from me. I came back home and told mummy and she told me not to share chocolates with strangers and also said that only best friends would share chocolates. Now are we best friends?" she asked smiling.
Both of us never saw this coming. I kneeled down to Tanvi and said "We are best friends from now on, whenever you feel like eating strawberry icecreams tell us we would eat it together"
She pouted her lips into a kiss and bid us a bye running into the house.
"These little kittens always amuse me, their way of life, their theories, problems and solutions. I literally was empty before coming here but now I kinda feel sorted out. Her smile which widened into a dimple gawwwwdddd i love her yaaar. We should visit her often" Rene told.
I smiled asking her, "Sure, Now would you please share your chocolate with me? I'm starving" and guess what this girl accepted.
We were tired and decided to get home before its dawn. I bid her a bye, promising that i would stay longer for the next holiday.
"Update me Idiot" she said and hugged me.
