Happy Birthday

Chapter 11

Adhev's POV:.         

The hospital scared me. It is a place where you learn what life is, all you hear is mourns and tears. It takes up so much courage for a person to belong here. I remembered how I was afraid to go to the hospital when I was a kid . I was seated in the visitors room, and the nurse called out my name and gave me a list of medicines to be purchased. I got the list and entered the pharmacy,  joined the queue when Aadhie called me. I told him that I would be there by 7 and hung up.

Getting the medicines in the list I went back and gave it to the nurse who was in the room, and sat on the chair and looked at him. From my childhood I was a happy person who had everything in life. I don't remember a time when I cried for wanting something. I was an introvert until I saw this person.  I never talked to anyone or neither had any friends. When this guy came into my life I was sure that I had a brother, he made me talk, he taught me to smile, now is also making me cry. I witnessed the tear which was flowing down my cheeks and wiped it off, "I'm going to make you cry more for this" I said out loud and left the room. I informed Priya that I was leaving and decided to take my bike with me this time.

I reached college by 6:30PM. Walking to the dorm I was thinking of what to tell Aadhie, I knocked the door deciding to tell him the truth this time. "Finally someone remembered the way to the dorm" Aadhie said opening the door."Sorry Aadhie" I said throwing my bag in the desk."Is there any problem? you look tired" he asked handing me a cup of water."I'll tell you that later,  why did you call me so urgent?" I asked him."Its Aadhya's birthday today, we will celebrate it in Starcafe. She was a bit worried the whole day, so thought about giving her a small surprise" he said and winked.

"You did well" I said and laid down."We are leaving in a couple of minutes. Behave well to the girl, Its her Birthday" he added."As if I am not behaving" I throwed the key to him and told him to drive.

Aadhya's POV

It was 7 and I was sleeping.

" Heyy Judeee" shouted my mobile, I barely opened my eyes but still attended the call. It was Aadhie.

" Aadhya, Navi and Thara told there are at the station, we decided to dine outside. Come to Starcafe within few minutes" he told and cut the call." No one here needs my opinion" I sighed and checked my dress it was good enough for a dinner. I washed my face, and just put on my mascara and lipstick and locked the room.It took me 5 minutes, I stood infront of the gate and called Aadhie.

I got a message as a reply: " Third floor, Cabin 3". I prefered the lift to make it faster. I opened the cabin door and there was absolute darkness inside. I unlocked my mobile to check the message and I was in the right place. I sighed and turned to leave the room while I heard a popper burst, the lights were on and the music turned on. 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY AADHYA' was all I could hear. I was so happy that I cried, birthdays are not my type. I have always not wanted to celebrate them.

"How did you guys know?" I asked awestruck. Aadhie stretched his hand and gave me my ID back. " You Idiot" I replied."Guys really Thank you, I'm Speechless." I told them. I was sure they all had a awful look on their face. "Blow the candle" Thara said."Okay under one condition. I will blow the candle, but not cut the cake. Let us Please cut our pieces for ourselves and eat" I looked at them and suddenly all the awful faces turned suspicious."uhhhhh, I dont cut my cake I can blow it and make my wish" I said and smirked hoping it would be a yes."You're totally weird Aadhya, anyways its your birthday it will be as you want it to be. Proceed" Aadhie smiled with welcoming hands.

I blew the candle and there was totally a cake bash there. "For the next year's celebration better get 6 knives Aadhie" told Thara. "Unwrap the gifts" told Aadhie. I felt that was a good decision and opened them.I felt lucky, there was a lot of them mostly cosmetics, watch and shoes. I was tired already and so I suggested leaving the room."Its a reservation for one hour. We will stay here till the last minute and then leave" Aadhie insisted.

Adhev's mobile rang and he went out to the balcony to attend it, after a minute when he hung up I decided to go to him. "Heyy" I told. He stared at me, it was very difficult to find what was the emotion out of it."Happy Birthday" He told staring back at the sky.All I could do is say a thanks. We had spent a minute in silence when he asked "Did your registrations?" I replied him with a yes and there was a second question. ''Did Aadhie do it?" "Yeah. How did you know?" I asked."I understood when he had your tag with him" He never turned his face to me. I was out of words and had no courage to speak so I preferred to be silent."I thought you did not want anyone else to do your chores but now I understand it was only me" he said and left. I followed him.

"Adhev, I just want to end this today" I yelled at him."Perfect! dont ever face me" he said getting down the steps.I was determined enough to solve this misunderstanding today because I barely had strength to fight and so I followed him to the campus. He headed towards the dance theatre. 

I wondered what job he had in the theatre at this time. When I reached him he was talking to the in charge with a boquet in his hand. The Agatha Christie in me popped up and I decided to overhear the conversation.

"Sorry son, the student did not come here to register today" said the in charge."Yeahh Uncle. I learnt it just now that her friend did it for her. Anyway thank you for the hardwork" he said and walked. Guilt filled my body. I was not in a state of facing him while he suddenly came in front of me."Why are you here?" he asked surprised."Sorry" I told."Thats not the answer" he started walking."Adhev I'm not someone who would ask sorry easily. I dont find any mistake that I did, but still I'm Sorry. It is very awkward to be like this always. Let's just forget the problems" I stopped when I felt, I sounded like pleading."Okayy. I accept now but not next time" he sounded very proud. I wanted to smash him but still I managed to change the topic.

"What's that in your hand?" I asked"OHHH! This. It is just a piece of stupidity I found for myself", he stopped walking and looked at me. I did not know why I felt bad when I did nothing wrong."Is it my mistake that I did not even have a clue Adhev?" I asked him."So you say that this is my mistake?" He looked at me seriously. "I had no clue that you would do this for me, How the hell will I know that I would get a surprise from you like this?" I replied.

"So is it my mistake that I thought to end all the problems?" He immediately shot back."You are not going to give that gift to me?" I asked with the most sympathetic face I could make.At last the guy Smiled "Good Night" he said giving me the box while having the boquet with him. I did not ask why and left the place with a smile.I returned to the room and opened the gift box, Inside it was a note "SORRRRYYYYYYY! ANGRY BIRD" and then I opened the little pack which made me awestruck. Inside it was a Stretch band. I took my mobile and texted him a THANK YOU.
