Breonna Taylor was a Black EMT who was killed by police when they stormed her home looking for a man who did not live in the same building. They fired 22 shots out of panic and without any reason , 8 of those unnecessary and cruel shots landed in Ms. Taylor. This horrible event happened 3 months ago.
They fired one of the officers , but the rest are still getting paid and have the their badges. While, they should be fired and prosecuted for murder of the third degree and for manslaughter.
Breonna Taylor was a medical worker in Louisville, Kentucky. She was a kind and hard working young female, she was born on June 5th , 1993. She had no kids , but she had a beautiful mother who cared deeply for her and was loved by her friends and other family. She died in her bed on March 13, 2020.
During this whole pandemic, Breonna Taylor was on the front lines giving her heart and mind to help other people. I assume she worked long hours due to the amount of care that was needed and of course the typical hours of medical workers in hospitals.
You know what she was rewarded with ? Her life taken from her by other members of the community who were supposed to serve and protect her. Who are initially supposed to BE essential at all costs.
I'm not here to say all police are bad , I do believe they're some decent ones out there. HOWEVER, in a police force we cannot AFFORD to have bad apples, we cannot AFFORD to have racially closeminded people carrying guns and having a badge that can protect them. Finally, we cannot AFFORD to allow the decent ones to NOT call out the bad apples they see.
When people scream ACAB , it's not because they actually do believe all cops are horrible people or extreme bastards. They scream ACAB because the system that is in place gives them an extremely unfair advantage to brutalize civilians ( especially poc ) and most likely not pay the consequences. We scream ACAB because the cops that are allegedly " good " are peer pressure and too cowardly to stand up and help when we TRULY need it.
If the police were more careful Breonna Taylor would be alive.
If the justice system was really about justice , Breonna Taylor's murderers would be in jail as of now.
If you cannot see the flaws in this case and admit the disproportionality of violence that Black people go through in America then I do not know what to tell you.
