Tonight was the big game. We were playing our rival team. I leaned against the corner of the wall  watching the game when someone came up to me.

"What's a beautiful girl like you watching the game alone for?" he asked as he snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me close. He was wearing purple and gold, his school colors.

"For real though what's a toro doing on the trojan side?" he asked me.

"Sorry but last I checked we still own The Hill." I told him. The Hill was the local name of our stadium. He just rolled his eyes and then looked at me.

"Would you stop staring at me like that. It's creepy." I told him after he had stared at me for a while.

"Sorry, you are just so beautiful. Do you wanna watch the game from the stands you can probably see it better."

"Sure," I said as he led me to where he had been sitting. We sat there and watched the game, well I did, he was too busy staring at me. Pass. Interception. Pass to inzone. Incomplete.

"Yes." I said earning a couple of weird looks then I remembered I wasn't on my team's side.

"I heard that." the guy said to me causing me to blush.

When I looked back at the game one of our players was on the ground, this was normal but he stayed down, he didn't get up fast like most others.

"Excuse me mam," I said tapping the lady next to me on the shoulder, "do you know what number is hurt?" I asked her.

"Number 54." she answered.

54."Brian," I said under my breath. The whole stadium had grew deathly silent. Paramedics ran onto the field with a stretcher.

"I have to go. Here's my number." I quickly said as I jotted down my name and number then ran off to the gate. As I got to the gate there was another paramedic there prepping the truck.

"Excuse me but I am a very close friend of the player can I please ride with y'all to the hospital." I begged the guy.

"There should be enough room." he told me as they loaded Brian into the ambulance. I hopped in and immediately grabbed his hand that was hanging from the bed. I put it between my own two small hands and did the only thing I could think to do. Pray.
