I made sure to continuously check the time on my cars screen. After a while I noticed the buses pulling up and people getting out of their cars. I decided that I probably should too.
I put my sketchbook back in my bag along with my pencil. I turned off my car, grabbing my backpack and keys while doing so.
I got out my car, making sure to lock it. I looked up to see quite a bit of people starring at me. I rolled my eyes and started making my way towards the entrance.
I saw a group of kids huddled together by a silver Volvo and a big black Jeep. I took notice to how they were all equally pale and how the other students steered clear of them. They all had topaz golden eyes and it suddenly occurred to me. They're vampires too.
I was shocked. My mouth hung open as the tall one with bronze colored hair glanced at me with wide eyes. I looked into them and immediately I was bombarded with thoughts from students all around me. My hand shot toward my forehead as I took unnecessary deep breaths to get the new power I gained under control.
So, he was a mind reader. Explains as to why he was shocked as I had taken notice in my mind as to how I realized they're vampires.
I glanced down towards his arm where a pale brown haired and brown eyed girl stood, tucked into his arm. She was human. Why was she with them? Does she know what they are? Is she aware that something could happen?
I looked back up to the bronze haired guy, he just nodded his head to signify yes. I facepalmed and saw the others glance to my direction. I should probably go over to them. We had about fifteen minutes before we had to go inside the building.
As I walked across the parking lot towards them, people began starring yet again. But this time, I could hear their thoughts.
Damn she's hot.
I'm definitely gonna hit that.
Why is she going towards the Cullens?
Ah, the Cullens. I'm going to make an educated guess and say it's their last name.
I stopped in front of them to see the whole group starring at me. The human girl with jealousy in her eyes. I rolled my eyes at her then looked towards the others with a beaming white smile.
"Hi, I'm Masen. I'm new here, however I have a feeling we're going to be friends." I say glancing around at all their faces. They truly were incredibly beautiful however the blonde girl, she was the definition of perfection.
"Hello, I'm Edward, this is Bella," he says nodding towards the human attached to his arm. "That's Emmett and Rosalie," damn, beautiful name for a beautiful girl. "Then Alice and Jasper." I look over toward the last two he introduced, I sucked in a harsh breath as I looked in both their eyes.
They both have a gift also. This coven, is powerful. The second biggest coven I've seen. The Volturi being the first.
I gripped my head yet again as my body absorbed the new gifts. Suddenly I felt concern, curiosity, and jealousy. Emotions. I could feel the group around me's emotions.
Stunned I glanced around pinpointing where the jealousy was coming from. The human girl. Of course. I tried to hear what she was thinking but all I got was static. That was weird. Really weird.
"Are you okay?" I heard a small but cheerful voice say. I snapped my head in the direction of the small, pixie looking girl. Alice, that's her name.
"Yes I'm alright, just um...a headache." I replied nervously, knowing that my power is incredibly desired and I didn't want the Volturi after me.
"You can talk to us about yourself. We have no reason to share or take it to the Volturi." I looked over towards Edward with my mouth opening and closing repeatedly.
"Wait a second, you're one of us?" I looked towards the big, burly guy. What was his name again? Oh right, Emmett.
"Um yes, I am." I say, shooting a murderous glance to Edward and he put his hands up in mock surrender with a small smile playing on his lips.
"How come I didn't see you coming?" Alice asks, confusing me because I have no idea what she meant as to why she didn't see me coming.
"What do you mean?" I questioned looking around the group once again. They all just looked at Alice so I looked back to her.
"I can see the future based on the decisions people make." She said simply, shrugging her shoulders. Me however, I was shocked. I hadn't met anyone who could do that so far.
"Oh joy, sounds fun I get that one too." I say sarcastically. "But as to how you didn't see me, I have a blind spot. It helps me stay hidden. Mostly from Aro and his guard. I'll explain as much as I can. Do you have a coven leader?" I ask leaning against the big Jeep.
"Yes, he's our 'father'. He's a doctor at the hospital. Dr. Carlisle Cullen." Rosalie responds, giving me a smile.
"He's a what? A doctor?" I said shocked. Truthfully I was. How was he able to get his thirst so under control he was able to become a doctor. Honestly.
"Yes he's a doctor. We'll explain more after school hopefully. Do you have plans?" Jasper says, I look over to him and notice his scars. Bite marks, all over his body from what I could see. I quickly snap out of, realizing I was being rude. Not only for starring, but also for not answering his question.
"I'm sorry , no I don't have plans. Well I was going to go to the grocery store," I saw their confused expressions but continued,"I'll explain about that tonight. But I could just go to the store tomorrow." I shrug as they nod their heads at my statement.
I glance to the school doors as the bell rings, signaling that class would start in five minutes. I quickly said goodbye as I skipped into the building.
