AN: Hey guys! Here's chapter two, I hope you enjoy it and please let me know by commenting and voting!
The next morning started almost the same as the one before, she got up and ready had a quick breakfast and got in the car with her aunt to go to school. The only difference was when she arrived that day she didn't ignore everyone and walked straight inside, she actually looked around to see if she could find Rosalie, Jasper or any of their siblings. She still wasn't sure about them but guessed that hanging out with them for the time being was better than being all on her own, she soon found Rosalie and Emmet standing next to their car, waving her over when they saw her. Emmet was a bit surprised by his mates attitude towards the new girl but he could also see that they were very similar and he was pretty sure that Elinor reminded the blonde vampire of herself when she had just been changed, bitter and angry at the world. Rosalie actually liked the human girl, who had sat down next to her without judging or going of the rumours she must have heard about them, she didn't seem to care about the stares or whispers that she was receiving, and which only increased after her little lunch date with them. Rosalie admired the girl because of that and if she was honest she could use a friend outside of her family, someone to distract her from Bella and her constant presence. Elinor gave the couple a small smile when she reached them greeting them with a soft good morning "good Morning Ellie!" Emmet exclaimed, causing the girls head to shoot up and a glare to form on her otherwise calm face "don't call me Ellie, its Elinor or El or Bitch for all I care but not Ellie." She said face hard, hands clenched at her sides. Rosalie and Emmet were a little shocked by her sudden change in demeanour but shook it of not wanting to anger the girl more. "Of course, sorry El." Emmet said quickly, giving her a careful smile while putting an arm around Rosalie's shoulder who still looked shocked at the girls reaction. Elinor simply nodded, calming down quickly and turning to look at Jasper who had just arrived, she didn't know it but her anger disappearing so quickly was all due to him, he could sense it together with about 6 other emotions and calmed her down before she would start shouting or burst out crying or something like that. The three siblings talked occasionally trying to include Elinor in the conversation but after a few failed attempts they stopped, understanding she wasn't in a mood to be social. When the bell rang they said their goodbyes, Emmet apologising once more and asking if she would join them for lunch again to which she agreed smiling slightly at him before rushing to her English class.
English and Spanish dragged on once more and she was for once very happy when she reached her history class, not only did she love history but she was also happy to actually have someone she tolerated to talk to. Jessica, the brown haired girl from the day before had sat next to her in English and spent most of the hour glaring at her and trying to get her to talk about the Cullens or listen to whatever she had to tell her about them. Elinor ignored her just like she had done the day before and simply rolled her eyes as she packed up her things to leave for the next class. Just like the previous day Rosalie was already sat in her seat, her bag on the one next to her to make sure that only Elinor would sit there, not that she expected anyone else to try and sit there but just incase. She smiled and gave Elinor a small wave when she saw her come in, gesturing for her to join her which the girl obviously did. Elinor returned Rosalie's smile and sighed in relief when she sat down, Rosalie noticed the way the girls heartbeat calmed down, and despite not having her brothers emotion sensor even she could tell that the girl was just as happy to see her as she was, even if she didn't say anything or show it outright. "One of these days I swear I am going to punch that Jessica in her stupid face, and I won't feel sorry in the slightest." Elinor exclaimed while taking her notebook and textbook out of her bag, Rosalie laughed turning to look at the girl once more "What did she do now?" She asked intrigued to know what could get the girl so angry "she just won't shut up about you guys and trying to spread all these rumours, I hate gossips especially ones like her. I wouldn't be surprised if she was the one that found out and told the entire school why I am here." Elinor rolled her eyes at the end of her sentence but Rosalie could see she was hurt about the constant reminder that her parents and brother were in fact dead. Rosalie was shocked that the main reason the girl was so angry was because of her and her family but she didn't show it, simply squeezing Elinor's arm and offering a smile which Elinor swiftly returned "if you do end up punching her, let me know because I want to be there to film it." She finally said trying to make the girl laugh and she succeeded as Elinor gave a short laugh before returning her eyes to her textbook and reading the paragraph on the first settlers she was supposed to summarise. History went by a lot faster than she had expected and before Elinor knew it she was on her way to the cafeteria, before they could enter however, their path was intercepted by Jessica who still looked angry at Elinor "so you're joining the Cullens again huh, are you to good for the rest of us that you only talk to them, or do you just like to hang out with the town freaks?" She asked talking loudly and attracting the attention of everyone who was also on their way to lunch. Rosalie was about to say something when Elinor stopped her, stepping forward and smiling sweetly at the brown haired girl "I don't think I am to good for anyone but at this point the only people who have treated me like a normal human being instead of an animal in a zoo is them. So until you can get over yourself and your incessant need to gossip and make others feel bad by spreading stupid rumours about people you don't even know get out of my way and leave me alone." Elinor tried to get passed Jessica who looked redder and redder as the minutes went by hoping the girl would shut up but no, she had to add even more fuel to Elinor's already growing rage "you are such a bitch!" Jessica exclaimed "i'm surprised your aunt even wanted you, why don't you just go back to wherever you came from and do us all a favour." She was almost shouting by this point and if it wasn't for the cold hand that was still holding on to hers Elinor would have punched the girl. She was normally never this violent but the epilepsy drugs she was on tended to get her angry very quickly and Jessica was not helping this matter. Elinor took a deep breath before answering, trying to keep her cool "Honey if you think that calling me a bitch will hurt me or the fact that you want me to leave you are wrong, I don't want to be here either but at least I don't go around starting fights with people I don't know, if you have a problem with me thats fine but you don't get to include my friends or my family into it understood? And I may be a bitch but I'm still a much better person than you are" With that she flicked her hair over one shoulder and pulled Rosalie, who was slightly shocked by the girls speech as she had never heard her talk so much at once, along with her and towards the table of Cullens who all seemed to have heard the conversation she just had. Jasper was scanning her emotions, and was surprised to feel that she was mostly angry and not that hurt by what Jessica had practically shouted at her, sure there was still that sadness and tiredness he had felt yesterday but no hurt. He looked at her and gave her a comforting smile while sending her a wave of calm to try and defuse her anger before she exploded. Elinor sighed as she sat down next to Jasper, laying her head on the table not in the mood to talk or eat, Emmet had a different idea however when he put his large arm around her shoulder and gently hugged her "that was amazing, I've been waiting for someone to put that girl in her place for ages. Thanks for sticking up for us as well you didn't have to do that" he said to which all the people around her nodded. Elinor sat up a little straighter and shrugged "it was no problem I just hate girls like her that spread rumours to mask that they are really just jealous. Thanks for holding me back there Rose I probably would have punched her and that wouldn't have looked great on my second day here." She grinned at the blonde sitting next to her boyfriend, Rosalie smiled back, not bothering to correct the girl on her name, she had stood up for her family so she deserved it. Once again Elinor didn't say much during lunch choosing to just listen to the people around her, who once again were not eating except for Bella. Jasper offered her an apple halfway through lunch but the girl declined smiling gently, ever since the accident she had lost most of her appetite and most times didn't even have the energy to eat, especially not at school. Once the bell sounded to signify lunch was over she said goodbye to her friends, as she guessed having a fight over them made them sort of friends, and walked next to Jasper to Biology enjoying the comfortable silence that hung between them. Jasper found it easier to sit next to her than he did with any other human in this school and he didn't know why, it kind of worried him that he didn't know but Carlisle had said it was probably nothing or his control simply improving. This time in biology they were told to pair up and both Elinor and Jasper were elated they shared this class, finding it easy to be around the other and work on whatever the teacher told them.
