The trio approached the gymnasium that was bustling with talks amongst every new and reoccurring student. As they walked down the middle aisle, separating the boy and girl students, Haru and Makoto watched Mai find her own spot in the uniformed line, waiting for the entrance ceremony to start. A middle-aged man who sported pepper and salt hair walked across the wooden stage, taking his place at the podium. Mai picked on her nails as the words of the principal went in one year and out the other, but her attention went back to the stage when a young girl with black hair, resembling a dark midnight sky, styled into a high ponytail with a cream white color bow finishing the look with freckles adorning her face. She walked over to where the principal was and adjusted the mic to her height. Mai finds out the young girl is the student council president, she finds her quite remarkable but what Mai notices is that the young girl on stage keeps glancing at someone in the crowd, specifically at the boy's side. The young girl turned her neck around to see a tall lean kid with disheveled brown hair, adorning a small smirk towards the young girl on stage. Mai assumed they were close friends and looked back forward.

Time passed by for the young brunette and soon enough everyone in the gymnasium found their way out to see their classes. Mai made her way out of the line, quietly uttering small 'excuse me's', running over to her two friends, "Come on guys! Let's see our classes!" Makoto nodded at his friend's words but quickly noticed something with Haru's uniform, "Haru, this needs to be buttoned up." Mai laughed at Haru's sigh but in the corner of her eye, a blur of turquoise hair blurred right past her and the two boys, the same blue hair she saw at the library. Without thinking, Mai grabbed onto Makoto's and Haru's arms and dragged them out of the gymnasium, heading towards the big crowds of students.

Makoto freed himself from Mai's hold as he tried to read which classes they were all in, the young girl left Haru at the back as she mimicked the same thing at the building, she reached the front of the crowd and saw her name with the words class two. She made her way back to her friends, noticing a dejected expression on Makoto's face, "Guys, I'm in class two! What about you guys?"

Makoto turned towards his friend with a small smile on his face, "I'm in class two too but Haru is in class one," The brunette boy took a quick glance at Haru, "we're in different classes." Haru looked up at the two, uncertainty painted on their faces, "They're neighboring classes, though, so we'll still see each other for combined lessons and gym," Haru explained to Makoto while closing his eyes. Makoto and Mai nodded at the reassurance but before they continued talking, they were interrupted by a boy who had swung his arm across Makoto's shoulder, "Tachibana!" Mai smiled at the interaction with Makoto recognizing that voice, "Michizuki?" The young boy nodded at Makoto whilst pointing at himself, "Hey! I'm in class two, too!"
