Chapter 28

LATER THAT NIGHT

THE MAYBANK RESIDENCE

It was after the Pogues and the rest of them finally got home, after finding the gold. Everyone was exhausted but excited to get the rest of the gold out of the well. The Pogues were finally going to have all of their problems solved, with money.

Everyone had gone back home, and somehow Violet managed to convince JJ that they should sleep at his place instead of hers, she wanted to be somewhere different for once. They both went back to JJ's place and luckily his dad wasn't home, and wouldn't be anytime soon.. hopefully.

Violet and JJ had fallen asleep and he had his arm wrapped around her while they slept. Who knew friends with benefits included sleepovers and cuddling too? 

A loud bang in the house made both of them jump out of their sleep, Violet was startled but JJ already knew who it was. Dear old dad.

"What the hell was that?" Violet sitting up, rubbing her eyes.

"Nothing, just come back to bed." JJ mutters, pulling her back in bed.

"I think someone's in the house." Violet says.

"Probably my dad getting home." JJ says, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her closer to him. He tried ignoring it, maybe he wouldn't bother them tonight. Just maybe for once.

"Oh, okay." Violet says, turning around and running her fingers through his hair. His eyes were closed but he was definitely still awake.

"Keep doing that." He says, with his eyes still closed. He liked it when she played with his hair.

There was a loud bang on the bedroom door, making JJ jump up and lock it immediately.

"What's going on? JJ?" Violet asks, he was panicking and she didn't know why, she saw the worried look on his face.

"Hey, talk to me." Violet says, going over and holding his face. It was like he was a different person.

"You have to go." He says, warning her.

"What? What are you talking about?" Violet asks, confused. One minute they were sleeping and the next he was kicking her out.

"Just go, okay? I'll explain it later." JJ says.

"I KNOW YOU'RE IN THERE!" A voice yells.

"What? Why are you kicking me out?" Violet asks.

"My dads home." JJ says.

"So? Why are you kicking me out now?" Violet asks.

"The chateau's close by, you can go there." JJ says, heating another bang on the door.

"JJ what the hell is going on? If I wanted a sleepover with John B and Sarah I'd go to the chateau." Violet asks.

"My dads home." JJ says.

"So? What's the big deal?" Violet asks.

"He's probably high right now and he's not- he's not..." JJ trailed off.

"What?" Violet asks. Hearing another bang on the door.

"You need to go before something bad happens, okay?" JJ says.

"How am I supposed to leave? Out the window? With that fall? Your room is in the attic! You could at least let me use the front door!" Violet yells.
