Y/N fumbled around her pockets to find the key to unlock her door. Once she got the door open, she jumped onto her bed and squealed into her pillow. She could not wipe that smile off of her face even if she tried. She heard the door open and saw Sydney with a giant smile on her face.
"Woah, Syd. I've never seen you this happy!"
Sydney nodded,
"I know! I have good news, Curtis asked me to move in!"
Y/N was surprised,
"What? Doesn't he have a roommate already?"
Sydney shook her head,
"His roommate moved back home because he kept getting in trouble here, so I'll be out of your hair in a few weeks! You seem smiley, too, what happened to you?"
Y/N began to blush,
"Connie and I went to the student center, and I ran into one of her teammates and it happened to be the same guy who made me fall down the stairs in the courtyard. Only this time, he ran into me with a basket of cheese fries. Then, he bought me a new shirt at the bookstore, we walked back here, and I gave him our phone number. I'm also going to see him play this Friday."
Sydney's smile grew three times its size, like the Grinch's heart.
"Y/N that's awesome! I'm so happy for you!"
"Thank you, Syd. Aw, I'm gonna miss having you around here."
Just as Sydney was going to respond to Y/N, the phone rang.
"Oooh, I bet that's your man," Sydney said flirtatiously.
Y/N rolled her eyes playfully as she gets up to answer the phone, butterflies in her stomach.
"Hello?"
"Y/N! What happened after I left?"
Connie's on the other line. Y/N brings the phone to her chest, turning to Sydney.
"It's Connie, she left before we got back here."
Sydney nodded and chuckled as Y/N put the phone back up to her ear.
"Connie, you will not believe it. He said that he had a lot of fun and wanted to hang out again, but just me and him next time!"
Y/N heard Connie gasp through the phone, which made her giggle.
"Y/N! Oh my god!"
"That's not the end of it though! Once we got back to Simmon's, I gave him my room's number. Then I kissed him, on the cheek."
A louder gasp along with a squeal was heard from Connie.
"What?! Y/N, I never knew you could be so bold!"
"I know! It's almost like an alter ego took over! You left your backpack here, by the way."
"Oh, that's fine, I'll pick it up in the morning. But, I'm very proud of you, Y/N! I'm gonna go and get ready for bed, goodnight!"
"Goodnight, Connie."
Y/N hung the phone back up on the wall.
"You didn't tell me you kissed him!" Sydney exclaimed.
Y/N shook her head,
"Only his cheek, Syd. But, it's like I said to Connie, it felt like some kind of stronger version of myself took over and just, did it."
Sydney laughed, while she grabbed her shower caddy and picked out some clean sleepwear.
"Did you wanna go to the showers together?"
Y/N shook her head,
"No, I'll catch one in the morning, but thanks. I'll probably be asleep when you get back."
Sydney nodded,
"Coolio, goodnight!"
"Night."
After Sydney left, Y/N grabbed a pair of black running shorts from her dresser and a plain white t-shirt to change into. Then, she grabbed her bottle of Clearasil and made her way over to the small countertop sink in the room.
After changing and washing her face, she turned off the room's overhead lights and turned on Sydney's desk lamp, so that it wouldn't be completely dark when she comes back.
She climbed into bed and covered herself with her duvet, trying to fall asleep. She couldn't stop thinking about Fulton, he has such a bad boy/enforcer outside but a soft and caring inside.
"What does he think of me?" she wondered.
"He wouldn't have asked me out if he didn't like me, so that's something. He actually likes me."
Y/N eventually found herself yawning and felt her eyelids get heavier with each passing minute, and then finally drifted off to sleep.
