Repente - A musical term that preludes a sudden change of theme
"I would like Kim Minju to be my partner for the National Concours, Mr. Director." Y/N said seriously as he hands over the document back to the director.
"Thank you, Y/N-ssi. I trust that you would inform her of your decision as soon as possible. I expect that you and Ms. Kim would give it your best during the day of the concours. Starting today, I hope the both of you would take this time to decide on what piece the both of you are going to perform. Remember that this academy, including myself, will always support you regardless of the outcome." The director said as Y/N smiled due to his words of encouragement.
After excusing himself from the office, Y/N knew that he had one very important thing to do first, and that is to apologize to the other three girls whom he did not choose as his partner. He knows that doing this would be painful to them, but he has to fully accept his decision wholeheartedly so as not to cause any more doubts to linger in him.
Of the three people he didn't choose, Chaewon would be the most painful to apologize for. He knew that she deserves a chance as much as the others, if not greater. When he returned to the classroom to inform her of his choice, Chaewon was ready for it. She promised to help Y/N and his partner in any way she can, though not before painfully admitting that she was hurt that he did not choose her. All the same, the two of them comforted each other, showing that none of this managed to ruin their friendship.
However, Yena was the one who took it the hardest. She cried knowing that Y/N won't be able to fulfill his promise to her back then, as he stayed beside her for a while to comfort her. He gave her one final hug so as to ease the painful feelings she has while the two of them made a promise to remain the best of friends.
Sakura respected his decision, making peace with the fact the Y/N will give the best performance he could do like what they did before. She promised to lend her support, and made clear that she would still give both Y/N and Minju her time to mentor them during their rehearsals if needed. Having heard this, Y/N thanked her and told her that he would never forget what he learned from her during their recital.
First Year Classroom Building, that same afternoon
Y/N was on his way to inform Minju of his decision, as he heads for her classroom where he saw several first year students greet him as he passes by.
"I remember when Minju went to our class when she asked me to accompany her for her recital just a while ago. I guess it's my turn to do the same."He said to himself as he reached the doorway.
Opening it, he saw her classmates were busy preparing for their next class, when they suddenly gave their attention to him once he entered. Minju, who was reading a book peacefully on her seat, looked surprised when she saw him. She tries to hide her excitement, knowing what Y/N is about to say.
"Minju, I'm here to say that I chose you to perform with me at the National Concours. I believe that this is the best way I can do to grant your wish to perform with me in a real contest. It would mean so much to me if you would say yes."
Minju paused for a moment, as she and Y/N heard the whooes coming from her classmates started getting louder. Noticing this, Y/N realized what he did and tried to look away from her, embarrassed.
("Wait a minute, it sounded more like a confession just now! Idiot Y/N, you can't even think of a normal way to tell her about it!") He told himself as he hide his face away from her.
"It's okay, Y/N-sunbaenim. I understood what you meant just now, and I truly thank you for granting me this chance to perform with you again. I accept."She said kindly.
