Minju Part VI: Con Amore

Con Amore - a musical expression that means "to love"

Kim Residence, that same afternoon

Y/N, Eunbi and both of their parents have arrived to Minju's home in order to talk about what happened during her recital. Once there, Mr. and Mrs. Kim greeted them warmly, as they all prepare to discuss everything in person.

They gathered at the house's living room, and Y/N was surprised that Hyewon was already there waiting for them, along with his mother, who embraced both him and Eunbi after not seeing each other for so long. Once they settled in, Mr. Kim opens up the conversation with them.

"Firstly, I would like to express my thanks for taking the time to discuss all of this in person, all of you, especially Mr. and Mrs. Kwon, since you came all the way from overseas for this important matter. I truly would have wanted to meet you both in a more favorable circumstance, but alas, we find ourselves here." Mr. Kim said.

"It is of no trouble to us Mr. Kim, but even so, we're really glad to have met the two of you today, even if not in the most ordinary way possible. It's truly an honor for us to meet one of Korea's greatest classical performers today, along with his family." Mr. Kwon replied.

"I agree dear. But even so, if not for our son's actions in your daughter's recital just recently, none of us would be talking like this today. Personally, I would like to thank you Y/N, for you did something very important for their family that night, and both your appa and I are very proud of you." Mrs. Kwon said as she gave a caring smile to Y/N.

"Honestly, it wasn't really just me, eomma. Hyewon-noona helped me out a great deal when she told me the truth. If not for her, I wouldn't be able to help out Minju." Y/N said.

"Don't belittle yourself, Y/N. You're the one who actually performed with Minju, all I did was to take you there to prevent the recital from being cancelled. You've done well as much as I did for Minju's sake." Hyewon assured him, making Y/N feel thankful for her.

"But seriously, both of you, you would never know how much our family appreciated what you have done for us. Minju would really like to thank you in person, but she's currently tired after all of the stress she just had experienced all this time." Mrs. Kim said.

Hearing this made Y/N feel a bit relieved knowing she's okay, since he never saw her since the recital was finished. But then he realized it was time to ask them about the truth.

"Pardon me for interrupting, sir, but I have so many questions about what happened during the night of Minju's performance. I still don't know why Hyunjin would do such a thing, and why he did it not just to Minju herself, but to the both of you as well." Y/N asked.

"That is why we are all gathered here, Y/N-ssi. I must thank Hyewon-ssi for giving me the chance to explain all of this in person, and I promise you that everything you're all about to hear would be nothing but the truth." Mr. Kim answered.

With everyone in agreement, Mr. Kim began explaining to them about their history with Hyunjin's family.

Both the Kim and Hwang families have known each other for three generations, both sharing their passion and love for the musical arts. There were several occasions in the past when they would organize many performances together, with both of them having an equal amount of opportunity to show the talents of each family member. Whether its performing operas, musicals, orchestras and simple solo and duets, both families would agree that each one would contribute to the musical scene, as they vowed to rise together both in fame and recognition.

But all of it suddenly came to an end, when the Kim family were offered by a foreign music enthusiast to perform overseas. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them, and to be recognized by a foreign audience for their talent would certainly mean a good thing for the whole family.
