Bravura - a musical expression that means boldness or bravery
At a highway in Seoul, an hour left before Minju and Hyunjin's recital
Hyewon was driving her car with Y/N on board, as they were both heading towards the theatre where Minju will perform. Both of them were tensed up and very serious, as Hyewon desperately tries to make it in time.
"I'm truly sorry about this, noona. I can't believe that I fell for his supposed kindness back when we were at the villa with Minju. If only I was more aware of his true motives behind it, we wouldn't even be in this mess right now." Y/N told her.
"Don't blame yourself, Y/N. That guy has always been a sneaky jerk who's really good at pretending that he's a true gentleman. I thought he was different from his father, but it seems their grudge never truly ended back then." Hyewon told him.
"Wait, a grudge? I never knew they had such a thing with Minju's family!" He replied.
"It's a long story, Y/N. One that maybe I or Minju's parents will eventually tell you, once all of this is over. As for your whereabouts, I already called Eunbi. She already knows that you're going to the recital with me. Right now, I need you to focus, okay? Don't think of anything else other than the performance." Hyewon reminded him.
"Of course, noona. The piece is Franz Liszt's Liebestraum no. 3, I'm already familiar with it even before we practiced it ourselves. I just hope we're not too late."
"Good then. Now leave everything to me. We'll get there as soon as possible, that I can promise you."
"Thanks noona. I'm just surprised that your driving skills are this good!"
"It comes with practice, Y/N. I'm just glad that I was able to make use of it today." She told him as she gave him a smirk, making him laugh a bit.
Seoul Arts Center, 10 minutes before the recital
Minju felt uneasy as she heard her parents talking with the VIP guests regarding Hyunjin's absence. She knew something was wrong, but at the same time, she felt that there was something else is happening outside the waiting area. She decided to eavesdrop on her parents, and felt surprised at what they are arguing about.
"You weren't aware that he's not going to show up today? How come something like this would happen right before we start?" One of the critics said.
"I really must apologize to you sir. I assure you, we will find a way for someone to accompany our daughter. Just give us more time!" Mr. Kim said.
"You both know that's not going to be possible. Either Mr. Hwang shows up now so we can start, or we should cancel this event altogether. I'm truly disappointed in you, Mr. Kim. We had high hopes for your daughter's performance today, and I believe that I speak for the audience who are all waiting in anticipation just outside. But this kind of incident is inexcusable, and I'm afraid this would affect your family's reputation with everyone present." The critic strongly said.
Not wanting to hear anything more with their argument, Minju stepped out of the waiting area on her own, as she heads to the stage to perform. The organizers and critics tried to stop her, but she didn't listen. All she wanted was to give everyone the best performance she can deliver, even without someone to accompany her.
Everyone was stunned once she went up to the stage and sat alongside her harp. Without a pianist to accompany her, and with everyone's attention towards her, she started playing the piece that she was supposed to play together with Hyunjin.
